Was having multiple conversations over the course of 3 days about monthly payment mid 300s, then he gets back to me today saying they took a bath on deals earlier in the month and this is the best he can offer.
Is this just a case of salesmen assuming they can be awful to women? He was pretty condescending in our discussions. When I asked him why he told me for 3 days he just needed free time to sit down and put the deal together he said Volvo is so busy they can’t keep up.
Our general advice here is to move to strategy of making offers they can say “yes” or “no” to, plenty of XC90 examples here this month to help construct one.
At this point you are going to have to cast a much wider net, if any brokers still have them you might consider that route. Finding and closing an XC90 in November is going to be a challenge for any hackr after the month they’ve already had.
Also he can’t keep up because Volvo sales people are not used to juggling so many customers…
When you say cast a wider net do you mean just calling around to different dealerships and saying hey these are the numbers I want to hit? I’m so sorry I am new to this.
Yes. You might have to fly somewhere and drive it home, you might have to ship it. If the deal is good enough then deal with that, then. FL and GA are not your target. Volvo incentives are by region not your address so ideally you want one from a region with more incentives.
If you search for posts about constructing an offer, eg
You’ll see a few different approaches. Figure out what incentives you qualify for, figure out the lease program (edmunds or rate finder), put together a target deal, find dealers with THAT car (you might be looking at 2024 XC90 T8 Plus but the program is different on 25s and Ultimates/Cores) and you effectively ask “is stock X still available? I qualify for X, Y, Z and have Tier 1 credit. If you can lease stock X for $A due at signing and $B per month plus sales tax I can be there _ to sign”. But the math has to add up and not scream
There are posts about XC90 deals and Volvo incentives including Costco and Pins and programs by region and finding a broker - all of this and more are here IF YOU SEARCH
Something seems to be off on this deal. You have only 7500 miles per year and your monthly payment is so much higher than the other Georgia deals. Independent of all these, make sure that your ABA is still good. As you might have seen/heard, they change the eligibility and requirements for the ABA rebate.
I was more referring to this deal and I saw few more. You are right regarding the dealer discount but I think it is still too high. The MF seem to be in line with other deals.
Can anyone help me also with getting a lease on XC90 T8 Plus or Ultra depending on the pricing? I am located in Michigan and open to deals on different states.
I had told them I was open to either Plus or Ultra, my goal was the price because to me the difference between the models is negligible. The thing that was so frustrating was the constant texts saying yep sorry just busy we will get it done for you over and over for days before being like whoops nevermind.
On the ABA we’re solid, had the membership for years.
It’s very honestly possible that they truly just have been busy and flooded with inquires and simply don’t care to discount the cars that much anymore. Everything that’s happened here has skewed the opinion of what a good deal is, if someone in a bubble presented a deal on an 80k car that was leasing for 661/mo with 0 out of pocket, almost anyone would say that’s great, but because a few people managed to get a stupid, crazy deal, now everyone thinks if you pay more than 300 bucks for your 80k car you’re getting ripped off.
If you’re payment shopping, that deal may effectively be over, if you actually WANT an XC90 T8, this seems like a good deal in general. Push a little more, risk losing the car and go back to them on the last day of the month with an offer to sign same day if you don’t absolutely need this car now.
