@Alex1438 , please explain to @z0lt3c how much you love this screen, and how much fun it is to deal with this when you have your family in the car.
ICE FTW. @z0lt3c needs a GLS or X7 for family hauling duties.

Doesn’t the GLS have tons of issues with the 48V MHEV system? Or was that just the earlier models
Wife was pissed and said not another Mercedes. But we still got another Amg eqe because for the price it’s worth the risk. Just no long distance trips with the car.
When the 48V MHEV system pops an error, the car keeps running. Because ICE. ICE is awesome.
There’s a reason Alex and I both have 7 passenger ICE for the family. Neither will trust a long drive with the family in a BEV. GLS and X7 have spare tires. They have easy access to roadside service. Gas is way easier to get than dealing with EA or Tesla Fanbois once they open up the Superchargers (if they ever open them up).
GLS also has optional second row sun shades. Way too awesome. Not sure if Alex spec’d the Exec Package in his X7.
X7 comes with automated sunshade standard. Yes my X7 is maxed out with everything other than bower and Wilkins. Even has the rear seat entertainment they no longer carry.
Nah man, you need the exec package to get those. BMW used to say “manual sun shade” in the order guide but they were automatic. There Bimmerpost threads talking about this.
Anyway, congrats on getting a great spec X7. We need to convince @z0lt3c to wise up and get a X7 or GLS instead of a Jelly Bean that will light up a bunch of CELs and need a flatbed.
Edit, I guess they’re in the Premium Package too on the X7. Not just Exec package.
Oh I totally agree. I’ve just heard some horror stories with the MHEV system, which in some cases bricks the car. What year is your GLS?
It’s a 2023 GLS 450. We had to replace the 48V battery at like 1,000 miles. When it alerted an issue, the car kept driving, it could be shut down and restarted, and otherwise operated pretty much normally. The only thing that de-activates is the stop/start at a stoplight functionality that was made smoother with the 48v system.
This image and the phantom braking is why I no longer let my family or anyone else sit in the car. Only 17 months to go.
But yet they’re ok with you driving it cuz you probably have life insurance ![]()
@z0lt3c … can’t say we didn’t warn ya.
Can’t wait to see z0lt3c’s X7. With electronic second row side window sun shades of course. You should ask your wife what she’d prefer. X7 or EQS. I’m thinking she’d take X7.
True lol but don’t really have a choice as wife and kids use our other car. Trying to take it in to the dealer in next week or so. Maybe Mercedes will let me out of the lease (wishful thinking).
You should consult wise @Dany1122 and equally wise @derekoh1991
Great deal go for it.
L and M fee is the charge for the sales tax credit.
They just sent me a link for Amex and told me to enter my info and give them the code it gives? What is that about? We had not talked about it before, is that part of the rebate they giving or is that something extra you think?
I wanted to ask here to be more informed before I asked them.
Yes, if you are using the Amex fleet benefit then they need the code/PIN to apply it.
@z0lt3c was literally advised by like 6 people who had EQS, and he has access to this EQS Superthread #2 and was actively cleaning up the previous Superthread #1.
And he still got a EQS to put his family into.
Dude.
I don’t know if I had this specific one but have had random errors of things being inoperative. They went away on their own.
Same. Mine tend to happen early in the morning when it’s foggy. Probably has something to do with it interfering with the sensors
