That works out to about $600 a month. That sounds expensive to me.
Thanks for the response. TBH, I have been looking for better deal but I am unable to find any nearby.
Providing additional basic information, like an MSRP, would be helpful.
If you’re not getting tax credits, leasing in TX isn’t terribly appealing.
MSRP: 63885 (Including EV credit)
Iniital numbers I was offered: $765/mo + $4700 down (36 month/ 10k)
After negotiation, here is where we are
Deal 1: $500/mo + $4700 down (36 mo/10k)
Deal 2: One time pay, $21000 (36 mon/10k)
Did you look here what others achieved?
Did you check marketplace?
Why not 24 months? The payment will look much better with the same discount and rebates.
Also, it will not be easy, but try to find 24MY demo unit. It gets an additional $2500 as a rebate.
GM EV products are all about rebates, so the deal with the same dealer discount can be great or bad.
Do you have Costco? Lyriq had $1k rebate by end of February.
What about Polestar 3? Or MB EQE? Are you open for a different car?
Yes, I checked the marketplace and contacted a couple. However, after a while, I stopped getting responses. Maybe I am getting a bit unlucky there.
re: 24 mo. lease - I tried to negotiate, but the dealer I am working with is not moving forward. The last option I got is what I shared here.
No issues with/ Polestar or MB. My only requirement is a mid-size SUV. Thanks for the pointers. I will review and re-consider.
One more option, Acura ZDX.
I think higher trim Type S will fit your needs.
Technically the same car builds in the same factory in Mexico, just a different look.
Another option to consider is Blazer EV
@ChevyCoach may help You.
Hey there! If you’re interested in a Blazer EV send me a message and let me see what I can do for you
AFAIK, the EV credit applied as a bump in the residual value for leases. The EV credit never affects the MSRP for any car, and I think it only affects the selling price if you are purchasing/financing.
If you’re only requirement is a mid-sized SUV, then you wish to do some research on what, if any, mid-sized SUVs qualify for a lease tax credits in TX (which is totally different from a federal EV credit).
There are just so many numbers still missing here that it’s hard for us to gauge exactly where you’re at in this deal and what levers could possibly be moved to make the deal better.
Ok so here is where we started off
Market Value: $63,885
Discount: $3,000
Selling Price: $60,885
Pro Protection: $2,995
Total Purchase: $63,880
EV Registration: $400
Doc Fee: $225
Lic and Reg: $209.5
Lenders & Memeber Fee: $766.56
Total Price: $65,481.06
Original Lease Quote
Cash Cap: $4,700
36 mo/10k miles: $765
All I did is, negotiate the total lease cost based on these numbers from $32,600 to $22,700 ($500/mo)
I did ask for 24 mo. lease option but dealer denied
Run away from this dealer. Do not walk.
You achieved a $5 discount. Very bad deal.
Next to impossible to score a good deal with them.
How many dealers did you send your offer to?
There is a better chance to get a better deal on MY2024 and 24 months.
I’m not sure about your location, but i see 61 units in 200 miles radius from Houston .
Thanks. If you can help me understand $5 discount only, that would be helpful. I will checkout the link you shared and will reach out to them.
re: sharing the quote. This is the only deal I dealt w/ for Lyriq
The dealer is clawing back the vast majority of the “discount” w/ an unnecessary add-on.
It’s not even clear if you’re getting a $5 discount. “Market Value” is not necessarily the same thing as “MSRP.” What is the actual MSRP of this car?
I do not think it makes sence to waste OP’s time with this dealer.
Oh, I agree.
But, if the OP doesn’t understand some basic terminology, moving on to another dealer might end in a better result…
Really appreciate all the insights here. I have declined the offer w/ dealer now.
I have reached out to other dealers based on the suggestions. Will see what I recieve. I will also look out for other offers on marketpalce
