Help me decide how I'm going to upgrade my garage

So currently I have a 2018 BMW M4 competition and a 2018 BMW 540 i M sport in my garage. The 540i was a 12k/3 year lease and the M4 was a 10k/3 year lease. The M4 is expiring in August and the 540i this coming January.

I’ve been looking forward to this upgrade for a really long time. I was really considering getting a Porsche after the M4 but having spoken to the dealers, they lease super expensive, which lines up with what I’ve seen on this forum. I’m looking for an upgrade to the M4 currently, my budget is around 1000-1200 a month.

I own a Lexus gx470 and a jeep wrangler, so these other two cars are more or less my fun cars at this point, though they still mostly get driven daily.

One path I was considering going down was swapping out the M4 for an i8 roadster because of how well they lease, and then getting a Porsche as a replacement for the 540i (maybe finance it instead of lease).

Another option I was considering was getting an F type r (the v8 one), as they seem to also lease quite well (or so I’ve read). The 2021 model seems much nicer than the current 2020 model (especially the interior), but I suspect since it’s a brand new car there won’t be much negotiation available.

An r8 would be awesome, but I’ve heard Audi’s don’t lease well at all, and an AMG gt or a Porsche gt3 would all be very nice but they all lease poorly.

Please throw in any suggestions you have! I’m looking for something sporty and maybe even exotic. Practicality isn’t my top concern

With this thought process, you might as well pick up an 2020 M4CS - can’t compare the M4 to an i8. In your budget, I’d suggest an M5 comp. Meets the driver needs and the 4 door needs. Pick up a Tacoma on the side if you need a second

You could go for an M4 CS if you don’t mind having the same car again (but with no armrests), they can be had for about $800/mo sign and drive. M5 is doable in the $1000-1200 budget, but it’s not really a sports car. The new M3 might be out by the time you’re looking to replace it, if you can live with the grilles.

M4 CS. It’s way more car than the base/ competition M4 and the payment will probably be close to yours now.

M550xi or M5. 2019 new lease. Strong program.

Uh, I am on a car leasing forum, right? This isn’t PornHub?

Isn’t our economy based on buying stuff?
So I would say a M8 convertible :joy:

I really like them but I want something a little bit more nimble. It’s too large of a car for me, I want something that handles better than the m4.

I guess I could elaborate on this more. The i8 would temporarily take the spot of the m4, but is meant as the replacement for the 540i. What I replace the 540i will be the real sports car (probably a porsche).

If however the m4 gets replaced by the jag, then the 540i would be replaced by something pretty comfy. Maybe an S class or something…

Yup, just as i was sure what this thread was going to turn in to . There was a very similar one started a week ago…and then it magically disappeared!

Hoping to have your dillema one day.

I’d say M2 Comp or M4 CS. Or finance an RCF for a few years - probably wouldn’t lose much money on it.

I vote for this one - :point_up_2:

My bad- I’ve only come across this forum when Googling information regarding leases, mostly numbers. I see how maybe I’m being insensitive to some of the other members now that I’ve browsed the forums. Will do, from now on probably will be posting numbers

I dig the image in the garage. That’s pretty neat.

Must be nice to have money…

Order yourself the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S…

Said the same thing to myself. Whenever I see a sub zero in the house I know where not playing games…sub zero in the garage that color matches is another status.
