2019 MDX lease help -- success!

Looking to lease a new SUV. Interested mostly in an XC90, MDX or Q7.

Any advice on what leases best and what I should expect for a payment? Ideally we’d come in under $600/mo.

I’m focused on getting a good to great deal. I can wait a bit if needed.

36mo/12k in 43065.

Seems like I missed the boat on the Volvo deals through Costco. I have access to employee pricing on Acuras but the low residual makes the leases less attractive.

Any advice?

MDXs are leasing incredibly cheap right now. Will probably be $200+ a month cheaper than an XC90 or Q7.

Residuals may be low, but Acura is giving a bunch of incentive money to the dealers (like $9kish) to give significant dealer discounts.

@mllcb42 thanks…when i was putting #s into the calculator i must have been improperly applying incentives.

From the Edmunds forums, I gleaned:

.00215 MF
MDX SH-AWD Tech - 54% residual and $8500 incentives

Through EMP pricing I can get the car for:
MSRP: 52295
Sale: 47344.47

How do I account for the incentives?

The incentives on the acura are weird as they’re to the dealer, not the consumers, so how they combine with employee pricing I do not know.

Honestly I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to stack employee with the dealer incentives. That would be an incredible deal if you can do it. FYI they are AFS to dealer incentives so they’re not taxable.

Is there a target monthly I should target for $0 down?

I added 1000 taxable incentives to account for loyalty.

I’d give this a try: leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Acura&miles=12000&msd=0&msrp=52295&sales_price=47344.47&months=36&mf=.00215&dp=0&dealer_fee=85&acq_fee=595&taxed_inc=1000&untaxed_inc=8500&rebate=0&resP=54&reg_fee=400&sales_tax=7.75&demo_mileage=0&memo=undefined&zero_driveoff=true&monthlyTax_radio=true

Basically tell them you want the car, you have employee pricing, loyalty, and want the $8500 rebate applied. See what they say.

Awesome, I’ll check with them tomorrow.

In general, is there a reason to not share that you know what incentives are going for?

Nah, I’d be straight forward with them about your expectations. I’m sure someone will try to play the “$8500? what $8500?” game.

Getting closer…

MDX SH-AWD Tech
Retail price 52,295.00
Sales price for you 38,844.47
Savings 13,450.53
-7500 non-tax
-1000 tax

  • $4,950.53 emp
    Gov fees 58.50
    Doc fees 250.00
    Capitalized 1,302.12
    Gross cap cost 41,082.14
    Rebate 1,000.00
    O down 558-563

MF is .00315 (i thought 0.00215) and residual is 53% (i thought 54%)

This one has it at .00225 I believe .00215 is for returning leases.

Residual might be different cause youre at 12k and in Ohio? Have you check with Edmunds for the MF and Residual there?

following up on edmunds to double check MF and residual.

anyone know what the “capitalized” value represents?

by my calcs, i should be closer to 500/mo

MF is marked up. They can’t monkey with RV

yea i mistakenly had 54% and it’s truly 53%.

I calculate:

MSRP $52,295.00
Dealer Incentive $8,500.00
Loyalty $1,000.00
Employee Discount $4,950.53
Discount $ $14,450.53
Selling Price $37,844.47
Acquisition Fee $595.00
Document Fee $250.00
Government Fee $58.50
Gross Cap Cost $38,747.97

Let us know if you get it or if they get down to your figures.

i’m going to go close the deal.

got them to <$500 month. $8500 in dealer incentives, employee pricing, and $1000 loyalty. MF 0.00225, res 53%

Success! Came away at $490/mo w/ $0 down and they got me in and out very quickly. Ideally I wouldn’t have rolled some fees into the monthly but I didn’t bother having them redraw up the paperwork.

Thanks for the help and advice.
