What cars have you had in your lifetime?

We bought a house… :sunglasses:

I Just went through this exercise the other day when I started adding to VINWiki. From first to current.

1989- Jeep Wrangler on 38’s
2004- Audi A4 USP 6spd
2005- Audi S4 6spd
2008- Dodge 1500 Hemi
2009- Audi R8 5.2 6spd
2014- Lexus GS-F
2015- Lexus RC-F
2017- Lexus GX460
2015- Audi A8L

Not Including other family members

-2006 VW Touareg V8 (Air Suspension, Locking Rear Diff, all options) - First Car
-2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara - Slow AF with an outdated auto trans. Didn’t have a manual on lot with side airbags and had to have it that day
-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude V6 - Worst car ever, went back on lemon law
-2015 Toyota 4Runner - Loved
-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8 - Nothing like the Hemi

Glutton for punishment, are we?

The Touareg was a beast. When people say their car is a tank, it’s nothing compared to that VW. So heavy and the doors were so solid. It just cost a million dollars to maintain at VW but it was actually decently reliable.

The JKU wasn’t the best. It had a lot of stupid problems like starters going as it got older.

The 14 WK2 I hated the day I got it and all the way until it was taken back. Kept eating trans.

15 4Runner most reliable and best built

17 WK2 has been really reliable without one issue except hood rust. I do the oil myself and it’s been perfectly fine.

Not sure my post could handle that kind of volume! LOL.
Maybe I can add for just a few important ones.

edit: I think I succeeded adding some details.

Also from 2002 to 2004 there were about 4 demo cars that I had when I sold cars, maybe 2 9-3’s, 9-5 and a Regal with the supercharger. Probably another 3 or 4 random vehicles that I bought and flipped.

You can see where the economy tanked, went from driving nice Saab’s to old domestics

Included some of the wife’s cars because we shared them or switched at some point

My goal is to own as many different makes as I reasonably can in my lifetime. I’d say “own all makes” but that ain’t gonna happen. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

1980 Mazda RX7 5 spd - bought new drove all over USA was by far the most fun to drive car ever and reliable. Never a problem with apex seals haha. Teared up when I sold it, like losing a close friend.

1983 Suzuki GS1100E superbike - they were dumping these for $3k with free Bell helmet back then, Like having a rocket between your legs no car can match that acceleration feeling. Sold when we had first kid for wifey reasons. Miss that bike

1984 Nissan 300ZX Turbo 50th Anniversary 5spd = not one of the fake badged ones but real deal, silver with black on lower bottom and gold wheels even a gold key. Still have it in storage cant part with it yet. LOL

1986 Mercury Sable sedan - my first lease before leasehacking invented. Called local banks and Security Pacific bank ( bot by BoA in 92 ) had lease dept at main branch worked a deal. Turned it in after 4 years had stop leak fluids in just about everything LOL total POS cars imo.

1990 Mazda Navajo 4x4 5spd - a rebadged Ford Explorer back then. Ok suv but paint faded badly.

1999 Ford F150 XLT 5spd - bought new sweet truck nice little 6cyl hated to sell it.

1999 Dodge RAM 1500 Sport - bot used in 2012 . lots of fixin stuff unlike F150. Meh :frowning:

2018 FordF150 XLT auto - small basic V6 nice to be back in F150 world.

I think I got the years correct. I am still trying to stay in a lease the whole time :).

Oh hell, if we are doing bikes, too . . .

1978 Yamaha DT 175

1977 Suzuki 175 Enduro

1978 Honda XL 250

1982 KDX 200

1977 Honda CB 750 K

1975 Kawasaki 250 Triple

1996 KX 250

1997 Honda XR 650 L

1999 Suzuki Marauder 800

2002 Honda VTX 1800 C

2003 Yamaha Roadstar 1600

2004 Yamaha FZ 1

The Kaw 250 triple may have been plus or minus a year. Not super positive.

I nearly killed myself on the XR 650 L — 11 days in the hospital and more than a dozen surgeries and five units of blood later I’m still here with a fused ankle and some great scars.

The FZ 1 was by far the most enjoyable ride. Kicked a lot of NE Ohio roads’ asses and a couple track days on that thing.

I’m officially out of the motorcycle business these days, though I reminisce fondly often.
