I believe this is to to certain extent. I know BMW is heavily on social media but I don’t see same presence with Volvo. I feel like Volvo is a niche market. Do they have “insiders” on here? Maybe? But are they really going to pull back something that is driving up their sales till end of the year? I don’t think so. They are doing fire sale to get rid of these aged looking XC90 for the 2025.5
Why wouldn’t they care? It’s budgetary. They planned for X amount of dollars to be allocated to these professional organization rebates, and now every random whoever who reads this forum is generating a code, this probably costs them hundreds of thousands of dollars easily.
Seeing as the dealer we are getting my GF’s car from took the time today to call and ask about the validity of her pin, corporate clearly sent something out to the dealers. Something to scare them enough to contact customers with a pin. The call today surprised her because she was told the next call she would receive was that the car would be at the store and she could schedule delivery. Instead it was asking how long her father who is a doctor has been a member of AMA as he gave her a pin as he is entitled to do under the program guidelines on the AMA website.
I just signed in NC about 4 hours ago, nothing was asked about validating the ABA membership. They simply asked for the R-pin number and applied it. YMMV.
In fairness, it was never going to last. I’d gamble Volvo knew about it earlier in the month and planned to pull the rug once the T8’s reached a certain inventory level across the country. I don’t know that anyone can be mad at the Volvo brokers. I’d hate anything that put a dent in my business as well. There was plenty of time to act on the rebates, so don’t be bitter if you missed it.
Folks, let’s keep this on track and civil (ie., cutting out the personal attack) or this thread, like the last one, will be locked and posts will be landfilled.
At the end of the day if they really wanted to verify anything, they would have put out fine print from the beginning stating ''you must show proof of being so and so by this day" or something along those lines. But they didn’t. The only thing that was there was “become a member and enjoy this $2k discount”.
Tried to get add ABA discount for a family and came to know that dealers received notification from Volvo not to accept the R-pins unless the person is a member for 90 days.
Now let’s see how a large group of lawyers respond to the change! Almost like a bad TV show that it’s the ABA of all organizations.
I’m surprised Volvo wasn’t more diligence since every other discount has stipulation to stop this and they even agreed to allow these organization members to share the discount with 5 people.
