Not true. I pulled trigger on another xc90 today from dealer in DMV area. Used and docusign done.
You got lucky, bro. ![]()
Agree! No one in the DMV area that I’ve contacted has said the 90 day thing. I have my pin and am going to be gifting a couple to friends.
But did you get the pin today and do you have a new membership (less than 90 days)?
They said that they 90 days rule was implemented today…
Well I gots mines (xc90) already so I’m good. Also, I got my ABA last week without a problem.

No, I got the pin last week, but only a member since last week. Never saw the need for membership before. The terms on the ABA website are quite clear. An individual dealer can’t read into it what isn’t there. I can’t understand the motivation on the dealer’s part because it’s not money that comes out of their pocket.
So VCFS partnered with a bar association that lawyers don’t bother joining and belatedly realized any non-lawyer can join?
And they had to have people monitor forums to reach this “insight”?

I’m sure there’s more to the story here
Yup. Doesn’t add up. I wonder who the dealer they reached out to is saying this. I can put my money on it who it is lol.
This seemingly has legs - my girlfriend is getting an XC90 T8 that is due at the store before the end of the month and has an AMA pin from her dad. The dealer called today to ask if he’s been a member for more than 90 days (thankfully member for 20+ years). North Carolina dealer FWIW.
Who needs an outdated XC90 so badly that they won’t just sign up and wait out the 90 days? Can’t imagine dealers are happy that VCFS is forcing them to fire sale these even deeper as we get closer to the release of the 2025.2
Someone pissed in this person’s cheerios… Been nasty all week.
So there is no mention about the 90 days rule on their homepage and they even encourage you to join to get the discount. I am about to sign up and go get the car tomorrow. Lets see how it goes.
We need to say thank you to Volvo corporate crusaders here. I am a bit disappointed in this forum and believe working towards preventing fellow forum members from getting deals is against the community spirit. It’s now harder to post unique deals and members need to worry about being ratted out to whoever. And when such behavior comes from a well-established broker it makes it even worse, since such people should know the game’s rules.

Ok I just looked into the fine prints of the ABA Volvo deal and the only thing I see about 90 days is the following: “Must take new retail delivery within 90 days of PIN creation date.”
I’ve tried to stay away from the fighting about his but I want to chime in on this issue, not the deal or lack there of
The R pins have been a thorn in the side for Volvo since the start of the month. It’s a program designed for certain professionals to have access to a targeted rebate - however, the program got “gamed” when it was found that nearly anyone could qualify.
The challenge, is that LH is a significant resource and a well known source of deals…. You can’t blame “corporate crusaders” for ruining this when the running rule of this forum is “don’t mention LH when shopping”.
LH isn’t as underground as many of you would like to believe. Nearly every brand knows what this platform is and as we’ve seen with many things in the past, it can often lead to “abuse” of a program.
There has been a lot of back and forth on the forum about Volvo & the R pins this month - but at the end of the day, the program is changing bc the adoption rate(the spend by corporate) is well beyond their expectations.
Every company has employees that monitor relevant social media groups and forums. Any company that doesn’t is incompetent. You’re beyond naive to think otherwise.
Wait, @Benedetto, are you saying that Volvo actually isn’t happy their their rebate program for legal and medical professionals is being used by random people to lease 299/mo XC90’s and that they now don’t think it’s a wise use of their marketing dollars? Well, I am just positively shocked.
Thank you. I may be underestimating the popularity of the forum and measuring it by 2018/2019 standards. I did get asked a few times about LH by the dealers. So awareness must be high enough for corporate to monitor it.
