Yeah I saw some deals on there for sure. Just scared they’re refurbished and warranties etc might not be as good. If I don’t like either of these I’ll check that out as I have 60 days to return them anyway.
Got a Costco couch also so gonna be taking advantage of these return policies if I don’t like that either. No time or patience to go to stores and shop for this stuff
These are some of the top TVs currently available in the market. Since you’re planning to place it in a bright and sunny room, I’d recommend the Sony BRAVIA 9 QLED. It’s a top-tier model, featuring mini-LED technology that performs exceptionally well in well-lit environments.
As for Hisense and TCL, they can be a bit unpredictable—when they work, they work great, but there’s a higher chance of encountering issues down the line compared to other brands.
Regardless of the brand you choose, I’d recommend purchasing from Costco. They offer an excellent return policy, so if anything goes wrong, you have peace of mind knowing you can easily return or exchange the product.
No GT is legit I have 4 OLEDS all from them and a Projector setup and all were delivered from reputable companies who you deal with for service etc. They are a broker for electronics. Also take note that if you qualify both Samsung and LG have partner store which if timed right could land a 77 or 83 OLED for under 2K
I can buy all the 77-85 inch with the best specs for sure. Issue is when you bump to 100” the price more then doubles. Those 15” add like 30% more screen area so I guess that adds significant costs.
Def a want more than a need but I’m willing to sacrifice quality for size for now. I’m gonna try the cheaper 100” out if it’s crap I’ll up my budget or drop down to an 85.
Greentoe is legit and you can even enter a lower price to see if they accept it. Sourced without the middleman so they get direct from distribution cost pricing.
As others have said, the only TV I’d get is an LG OLED. I’ve got a 65" C9 (2019) and an 83" C2 (2022) and both are working well. Both of them have an Nvidia Shield connected, so I don’t use any of the TV’s “smart” features (and in fact the TVs aren’t allowed to connect to the internet).
Check pricing at small local stores, too. In the San Francisco Bay Area, we’ve got a small local chain called Video Only that can consistently beat the pricing of the big box stores, and deliver for free.
The 100” didn’t fit in the elevator. Box was 6” too big, out of box would have fit but they wouldn’t take it out, and I wasn’t moving that thing around was able to catch the shippers for the other one before they got to me.
So Sony 85” and eagles for the win. All that research just to buy the initial tv I was gonna get before I did really any research
LG (and Samsung and a bunch of other “smart” TVs) are using technology called “automated content recognition” to track what you’re watching. It’s a bit like Shazam if you’ve ever used that. It takes screenshots, figures out what show or movie you’re watching, and sends it to the manufacturer who can then sell your profile to advertising companies.
In the USA, consumer protection isn’t as strong as other countries, and you can’t always opt out of all the advertising and tracking features like you would be able to in Europe or Australia.
The Nvidia Shield doesn’t do any of that tracking, and it’s a good choice. If you’re fully invested in the Apple ecosystem, the Apple TV is good too.
My TVs are still on my local network / wifi (so I can control them using Home Assistant), they’re just blocked from accessing the internet.
