Tv hacking 85-100”

Samsung EPP can have some great deals if you have access. I got a 85in QNX1D (QN85D) for $900 shipped

With all the illegal things you watch I wouldn’t trust it either.

What illegal things?

Are you implying that anyone who cares about privacy is doing something illegal?

Most tech-savvy people who know what they’re doing with their home network have some sort of network segmentation rather than letting anything connect to anything else. IoT and “smart” devices are known to have security issues.

Shame you missed out when the Hisense 100" was ~$1500 at BestBuy for 24 hours a couple of weeks ago. [$3500 -$2000 in best buy gift cards, plus some other ways to save either through signing up for a BestBuy credit card or ordering on a CapitalOne card].

Could they have tipped it on its edge to get it through the doors diagonally? It’s only 170lbs. :grinning:

It was merely a joke implying your overly worrying about your privacy while your cell phone spies on you on a daily basis. I work in Cyber and have worked very closely with different forms of law enforcement, they have all they need from your phone. If another country wants to see your survivor or dexter viewing history they can have it.

They made a good effort it wasn’t happening in the box, they moved it a bunch of angles. 100” TVs are absolutely massive. Shame would have looked great too

Call me old fashioned but I love the look and idea of Samsung frame TV. I am waiting for my TV to die so I can justify replacing it.

Are you headed to New Orleans for the Super Bowl? Or watching it in your new tv?

For 20k I can get a 120” Samsung  I’d never pay those prices to go to a game. Live football is super overrated. Unless you’re sitting in crazy seats

I’ll be watching the refs give kc another bowl from my couch…

Time for another useless data point, aka mine.

I bought a 55" Samsung S90d OLED (almost top of the line and many people like these over the LG c4). It was open box and I got it for half price so I thought it was a steal. The problem is I never watch it because I prefer a larger screen and best buy return policy was rather short. So for me screen size is #1 (assuming picture quality isn’t too much different), then picture quality. I later impulse bought a 75" TCL at Costco for $300 or $400 on clearance. The picture quality is ok but the laggy built in Fire TV OS sucks. I use an apple TV for streaming but I still have to deal with the native OS for live TV and it’s painful.

So my net net is get the size TV you want first and foremost and don’t go too low end on specs. Probably not lower than qled or mini LED not just for picture quality but also because the processor and RAM will be lower and it will matter if you watch live TV.

I recently went with a Samsung 65” frame and got two of the music frame speakers thrown in. Solid.

Not happy with the 85. Gonna pay delivery guys $ to walk it up 21 flights if it doesn’t fit on the elevator unboxed. The 100” is just so much bigger than 85. Doesn’t sound like much of a diff but it’s like 30% larger.

Delivery Wednesday :crossed_fingers: These return policies blow my mind though. Def taking advantage of it.

Come on man… you’re a hackr you can make it happen. I got my flight, room and car so far and I’m only in for 1k. Tickets as of last night were down to 3.5k, I’m hoping soon they’ll be down to 2.5k which was face value for the upper level. I wanna be in the building to watch that green and white (or whatever color it is) confetti drop!

What is your viewing distance?

In my 40s now prefer the game from my couch. I didn’t know tickets were that inexpensive. If the bowl was at hard rock stadium and that cheap I would consider it! Went to plenty of playoff games in the early 2000s when I could handle the cold. I’m an old man living in south Florida now. I was on Broad st in 2018 though after the last win

14’ 85 just didn’t cut it

At some point during December I’ve seen those go for $1599 and now they are back to $1999. Patiently waiting for another price drop.

This week is supposed to be the best for tvs. I’ve seen 10-20% less on many since the week prior when I first started shopping. Tech almost always gets cheaper with time. 100” tvs were $10-20k a few years ago. Now the cheapest ones are just over $1000. Crazy. That’s why I decided to go with a no name brand with good specs. They’re disposable at these prices. I don’t want it to last 5 years bc I’ll prob replace it in 2-3

you have to wait for the general discount and then use EPP or equivalent purchase program portal. Then you hop into a chat with Samsung reps and ask for 10% off. Sometimes, you’ll get it. Other times, they’ll throw you a soundbar, etc, or free install. Slickdeals threads walk you through this quite well.
