Sold one to CARVANA!

They posted and sold my car for $5500 more than I sold it for. I did try CL but I should have probably been more patient on a private party sale

They get such high premiums on sales because of their subprime lending practice. So don’t beat yourself up over lost profit, you would probably not have been able to attract the same customer Carvana does.

Good point, I had a bunch of low ballers. A traditional bank/credit union would probably not approve a loan for much more than I sold it for… And we know cash buyers are the unicorns of $20k+ car buyers.

Yup. But I thought you pay it again on buyout?

Tell her never in her life, she’s married to you for 3 years.

But I won’t tell her I’ll be looking around with 9mo left if I can hack a Volvo lease with pullahead.

9 months is gone, btw. It’s back to standard 6 months, AFAIK

LOL, yeah and with 32 months left until lease termination who knows what will happen, just ask the MBFS customers :sob:

How long after pick up did they list it? Its been 2 weeks for me, and I still dont see it posted.

It was 2-3 weeks if I recall.

2-3 weeks over here as well. Picked up the 13th, listed for sale the 27th, sold the 28th.

Mine was listed in less than 2 weeks. For a whopping $1400 markup

Noob question - I am in NJ

About to sell my car to Vrroom - they are offering $25,800 and my buyout is $25,588 (BEFORE tax). I was told that they handle the buyout directly with Subaru finance and that I would simply get a check for $212.

It all makes sense, except - who pays the sales tax on the sale? When I call Sub Finance for my buyout, it says $27,283 including sales tax ($25,588 before tax).

I just want to confirm I will not be responsible for the $1700 in sales tax after Vroom buys it out.

You need to have Carvana confirm what THEIR buyout is. If they confirmed already 25,588, then that’s the number and nobody will pay taxes on it (Carvana, as a dealer, doesn’t pay sales taxes.)

However, don’t assume your buyout minus taxes is what Carvana will pay. I had 2 experiences: with Ally it was, with Audi was $2K over …

Thank you.

Vroom told me they contacted Suby Finance and the buyout is $25,588. They are offering $25,800 - So I get $212 check made out to me.

Perfect then you’re all good! No sales taxes and you’ll get the check

Sold my RAV4 to Carvana It took 15 calendar days for me to get it displayed on their Sale

what happens to license plates if you sell the car. lets say you you want to keep the plate and use it towards next car?

Well, in PA at least, they have you remove the plate and slapped a dealer plate on it and took it to Philly, or tow it and have you remove the plate.

Got offered $1700 below KBB by Carvana on a 2018 Camary LE w/ 23K miles. That’s pretty bad, can’t figure these guys out.
