Sold one to CARVANA!

When selling to carvana did you wash and clean their interior of just let them come pick it up how it is? They are picking up my Jeep next week just curious as to what others did.

$25 carwash for interior and exterior, more for good impression / luck than anything else. I definitely wouldn’t spend $100 or more hand detailing your car

Has anyone has carvana come back and tell them that they can’t accept a lease that is within 60 days of finishing its term?
That makes zero sense to me and I’m planning to call them but would like more info from anyone else who has dealt with this.

Wash it yourself not a big deal the offer is done they won’t take money off if the car is dirty. I would just clean it as respect but I would do it myself.

Accepted an offer yesterday for my RAV4 and uploaded all my paperwork now just waiting for them to review. Today I check another appraisal and it’s went up another $500. I saved it to my account. Will they accept that offer or do I need to call? I know someone asked this earlier but I can’t find it anywhere
Thanks

I keep trying quotes from Carvana and Vroom for my 16 Sierra All Terrain and my “local market adjustment” keeps taking the quote lower and lower. I’m in the suburbs of Pittsburgh PA and they’re knocking almost $4500 off for market value. Anybody else ever deal with such a large subtraction for market value adjustment? KBB is at $25000 and Carvana is at $20500. Thanks

Yes it should update to your account as the new value.

For those who have sold a One Pay leased car early to Carvana through Toyota or Honda, is your buyout at the time of sale the same as the listed residual on your contract (at maturity)?

On these type of prepaid leases, do you get any of those prepaid payments back from lessor or is it the lessee’s responsibility to get as much back as possible in the form of a positive equity check from Carvana?

Since your payoff is your residual you are getting it back in the form of equity on the sale. So you need to add back a prorated amount of your one pay to the payoff and then compare it to your offers to get a sense if you are really ahead of the game. You will likely get a small refund of the rent change after the sale from the leasing company.

They say in the emails or faq to not bother. I just took everything out and left as is. I’d prolly clean more if it looked like the floor of a McDonald’s just to be nice. But ya mine had a ton of pine needles in the trunk from hiking and what not and they didn’t care.

Now Carvana is telling me they don’t take leases that are maturing within 60 days :weary:

I spent hours on this! Why doesn’t it say that anywhere??

I just had my vehicle picked up. didn’t do anything other than clean all the stuff out of the car, and vacuum. Process was easy and took less than 15 minutes. I would just make sure its not filthy, don’t think they will be too picky about it.

When did they tell you? I applied before 60days maturity date but today is the 60days of maturity date. I just got the email that my application is approved and scheduled pick up. I am worried if they cancel it because of the 60 days of maturity date.

For some reason I got this boilerplate email this morning (I pasted it below) even though I sent them the payoff quote and they got a verbal one from TFS as well. So, I took a bunch of deep breaths, pulled out my phone and braced myself for an hours long hold again. After 1.5 hours I finally got someone and he said the payoff document I got was addressed to me and they need one addressed to them  So, again we had a 3 way call and he again requested the payoff document be sent via fax and he also said let’s do email as well since they didn’t get the fax the first time.

I didn’t mention anything about the 60 days and he didn’t either so there’s still hope. If they would’ve only mentioned the 60 days in the email then I wouldn’t have even bothered calling but since they mentioned not getting the payoff and I know for a fact they did I decided to call again.

Now, it’s back to the waiting game.

Hello ,

We’re excited that you’re looking to sell to Carvana! Our team has reviewed the documentation you provided and determined the following items still need to be completed.:

  • Front and back of your title which you can request from your lienholder
  • A Dealer Lease Payoff, due to your vehicle being a leased vehicle. Please ensure that the Lease Payoff letter you are receiving from your lessor is specific for dealership buyouts.

A Customer Payoff differs from a Dealer Payoff in that customer Lease Payoffs may include additional sales tax in the buyout price. We cannot accept Customer or Consumer Lease Payoffs.

Most of the time, a Dealer Lease Payoff will be addressed to Carvana. Please note that we cannot accept any leases within 60 days of their maturity date.

If you are having trouble obtaining a Dealer Lease Payoff, your lessor can fax this into us using the fax number: 480.378.6443, Attn: Carvana. We must collect a physical dealer lease payoff in order to proceed.

Please allow 24 hours for our team to review your documents. Once approved you will receive an email with a scheduling link to set up your appointment!

Keep in mind your value is valid for 7 days after you submit your appraisal. All of your valid documents must be uploaded, approved and an appointment must be scheduled prior to the appraisal expiring. Note, it is okay for your appointment date to be after the 7 days.

Please do not reply to this message. Replies to this message are routed to an unmonitored mailbox. If you have questions please go to http://www.carvana.com or you may also call us at 800.333.4554

I’ve got the same email about 60 days maturity date 9:45 AM this morning and 30 mins later I got the text message and email that it is approved and gave me the schedule for the pick up. I don’t understand their process.

Wait, so you had the same email that they didn’t get the payoff? And then you get an approved notice?

Carvana just picked up my truck this afternoon. They were a few hours late, by t it took 5 minutes.

Just a word of caution, if you redo the appraisal before the pick up, if you got a lower amount it will show on their system in real time. You still get the price for the original appraisal but just know that that can happen.

Yes off course this is why I tell people to do the appraisal as being logged off from the Carvana account so if it goes down you are not affected by it.

It still doesn’t change the amount you get, the original appraisal still stands. The Carvana guy says it happens all the time. Just a FYI, it won’t cause issues.

But you’re right, better to do it as logged off.

Yeah the reason why is because if you do it as logged off and you get a lower number than original you are fine it won’t affect you but if you get a higher number then the system has an option for you to save the quote by logging into your account that way you save the bigger number to replace original.

I did this with my father the night before Carvana went to pickup his car. Carvana Gad already done the check for the original amount but then send a separate check for the difference. My dad got the second check within 3 days of when they took the car.
