The buyout sales tax accounts for the remaining payments, if you made those payments, part of those payments would be tax and the remaining buyout and sales tax would both be lower. Your profit here is ~3k, there’s no additional sales tax to save
Also it’s absurd that they charge you for purchase options and for disposition, they’re just collecting more fees arbitrarily. At Mazda you save the disposition fee by buying out Which makes sense because you save them the hassle of inspecting, storing and selling a car.
Lol, if you call them they will tell you when they sent the check but that is about it. When I sold my civic they took about 3 days to send the check to Honda financial and then Honda took like 2 weeks to show the account was paid off.
Keep in mind it’s in their best interest to do it fairly quickly since delaying that step only delays them getting the title. Which of course is going to delay Carvana from selling the car.
What’s the turnaround time on this? Even though I had a 3 way call, carvana still insisted on getting the fax from TFS. I still haven’t heard anything…
Carvana told me they are generally running about 4 days for finalizing the sale from when they receive all the paperwork. I believe normally they are less than 2 days, but they are backed up quite a bit.
Anyone else’s values been dropping? My 2018 CRV value has been dropping steadily for the past few weeks, maybe $20-30 per day even though mileage has stayed pretty low. Anyone else seeing this? I’m in Southern California btw.
I called and spoke with somebody, and they approved it right there on the phone. I think if you can get somebody live (use the call back function), can expedite the process
When I called Toyota to give them the fax number, they did it right there on the phone. Less than an hour later Carvana approved the papers on their website and I scheduled a pick up for Friday (this was on Wednesday).
Just sold my 2018 Impreza to Carvana. Carvana offered a little over 20k. Buyout was around 17.8k. Absolute no brainer. They arrived, test drove it for a few minutes, and gave me a check for the difference. Going to hold off on getting a car until I need one.
You are right. I just checked with them and the check was sent the day after they picked up the car. It is my bank which is delaying the process. Lets wait and see how long more they need…
