I recently sold my car to Carmax. I drove from Long Island to CT location, I had cracked windshield but they didn’t take out any money from initial online offer.
Instead of using Uber I took Metro North back to city.
East Haven location?
Can you share info on the Metro North (timing/cost etc.) Lyft seems to be around $100.
Yup
Took Uber from Carmax to train station $10
Metro North train pass $17 off peak hours to Grand central. It took me less than 2 hours to get back to city.
Uber & Lyft ride were around $200-250 when I was looking for & commute was almost 2 hours
Or there is an Enterprise car rental less than 3 miles away.
Just sold my Grand Cherokee to East Haven location, drove from Northern NJ. They ordered a Lyft for me that was a 50 minutes ride, to the dealership I was picking up my next vehicle from. Make sure you ask for your free ride! Had scratches on mirror and the panel right above the left front wheel, offer didn’t change after in person appraisal. The whole process took like an hour or so. I called ahead to make sure they get the dealer pay off from US Bank when I drove off from Jersey.
2021 Grand Cherokee High Altitude V8
Vroom : 43000
Carvana : 41896/around 41000 last week
Carmax : 43600/39600 last week
Offer from carmax jumped up 4000 in a week!
Don’t think I can sell to Carvana or Vroom being a US Bank lease but doesn’t hurt to see what everyone is offering. CARMAX had the highest offer anyway. Tried having the dealer where I am getting my next vehicle to match the offer they said they are no where close to the numbers.
Pay off for US Bank was around 40800
Crazy to have equity on a 7 months old lease
Basically paid 400 per month for the past 7 months on a MSRP 57875 Jeep.
Congrats!! What did you get???
Carmax offer jumped 3k more now

My Jeep is going to Carmax today
Carvana just takes way too long
500 negative equity now woo hoo

Carvana was at 37
Nicely done. I checked yesterday and mine was at $40800
Sell it if you want to sell it,
Car isn’t worth that private party imo
Carmax will list it at over msrp easily
I think the sales price was 42xxx
Anyone have any luck getting turn in fee back from Honda sold to Carmax. Spoke with HFS and rep said it was policy so they charged it and it should have shown on the buyout screen.
Per the contract, the “turn in fee” gets charged unless you buy the vehicle.
Thought this would be useful - even though I didn’t end up selling to Carmax, I used their offer to sell instead to a Toyota dealer who agreed to match.
2021 4Runner SR5 Premium
Vroom - $34,900
Carmax - $41,000 (up from $36,700 about a month ago!)
Toyota dealer had all paperwork ready to sign and they’ll payoff online directly with TFS. Walked out in about 30 mins with a check for $4100, pretty happy about this one.
04/14 - providing update on the VCFS process on the Volvo XC40 T5 R-design sold to CarMax on 03/31/21, online account still indicates same payoff amount. CarMax has moved the vehicle to the front lot where all vehicles being sold are parked but not listed on CarMax Website yet. Received a notification from my credit report that my VCFS account is closed.
Anybody had any issues with selling IFS lease to CarMax with MSDs involved? I assume once CarMax pays off IFS, IFS will send me a check directly for MSDs, correct?
Often times the buy out amount has the msds already applied
