Signed! 2025 Cadillac Lyriq LUX1 Loaner| $68,710 MSRP | 24/10 | $286 + tax | $7,278 one pay (includes tax)

Long live the EV deals post government subsidies! One of my strongest, non-EQS deal I was able to put together.

This deal was for a family member up in Boston to replace a deal I got them on an EQS 2 years ago ($615/month with first and MSDs — those were the days!). They wanted a Sport 2 for the features, especially Super Cruise, but it was hard to justify the roughly $80/month higher payment on a car that was only $2–3k more than a LUX1. Most of that difference was driven by Cadillac’s awful money factors, which get especially punitive as you move up in trim.

Target was set at a LUX 1 CTA. There are a handful available in the Northeast, and it wasn’t too difficult to get dealers to around $8,000 on a one‑pay for a ~$64k car. One dealer, however, came back with a particularly strong offer: $7,278 one‑pay on a high‑MSRP unit ($68,700), inflated by the $4,600 bronze accent package with 22” wheels. Went with that one.

congrats that’s an excellent deal! Have you found an efficient way to locate loaners or did you just reach out to a bunch of dealers?

Thanks!

Finding loaners for GM vehicles is actually quite easy. Use the inventory locator on Cadillac.com and it lists if any of the sear result cars are courtesy vehicles.

I am new to the forum and I am trying to figure out how to use the LH calculator for this same deal. When I use it to find the current lease deal on the 2025 Lyriq 1SC it shows a MF of .00355 and not the .00208 base that is being discussed here. I tried a variety of zip codes from different areas of the country all with the same result so I don’t think that’s the reason for the discrepancy. What am I missing? Thanks,

Thank you

Here are the rates for 1s and 2s if it helps.

Lux1 AWD
.00208 and 78%
Sport1 AWD
.00227 and 78%
Lux2 AWD
.00302 and 77%
Sport2 AWD
.00310 and 78%

I have been looking for a deal like this on a Lyriq all weekend. Unfortunately, i don’t qualify for all of those incentives. Did you email or call the dealerships to get the $8k quote? What are you saying to get it?

intresting

$8k would be with all the same incentives listed above.

I never email…. I always call and talk directly to the sales manager or GSM. I’m to the point with all the data in my back pocket (rv, MF, terms, etc.) and 50% of the time they’re willing to quickly crunch the numbers while still on the call. Past few years of this method has landed me some pretty strong deals.

Thanks for posting this. Had one dealer offer $1500 off a loaner with 4k miles. He was surprised when I said I was going to look elsewhere.

One caveat on these, that I wasn’t aware of, is that Cadillac incorporates existing loaner mileage into the lease. Meaning, it impacts the residual unless you absorb those miles into your lease. Example - if a loaner has 5k miles, you would only have 15k miles to use over 2 years to get a 78% residual. I’ve never seen a manufacturer do that, so I wanted to call it out.

Yep that’s a GM Financial thing. You can buy back the miles at $0.20 per mile (i think that’s the rate…). Or go with a higher term. This deal is for 10k miles (I think that’s the lowest GMF does for Cadillac), car had 4.5k miles so effectively 7,750 miles a year, which was good enough.

Do you have any insight into how GMF handles sales tax for states that apply sales tax to the sales price of the car on leases? I’m seeing some sales tax credits, but its not 100% and it doesn’t seem consistent.

Iirc there is no rule for it. You need to technically ask every dealer for that, but TBH i have not seen tax credit on EV units. I hope i am wrong.

I’m seeing like ~50% but it feels very hand-wavey

Great deal im returning my sport1 in 6months. Looking for a sport2

I’m getting a lot of private messages asking me to either share the dealer name or help broker a deal. Unfortunately, the dealer (a very small one) only had a single vehicle available and nothing else in the pipeline—and I’m not a broker.

That said, it’s the end of the month, which is a great time to get a strong deal on one of these. Know your incentives, money factor (MF), residual value (RV), and your target one‑pay amount. Cast a wide net—reach out to at least 8–10 dealers—and see who’s willing to engage. Play offers against each other to get closer to your target.

MSRPs on these are fairly consistent, typically in the $64–66k range unless a dealer has added uncommon installed packages (as mine did), which makes it easy to compare and leverage offers across dealers. Work directly with the GSM or Sales Manager whenever possible.

Good luck!
