I love the 9" wheels.
Think you misspelled “Tuk tuk”
I’ve used Turo a bunch, it can be hit or miss but I try to stick with larger providers (who are clearly doing it as a full time gig) which costs a bit more but you get a lot better experience. I usually end up spending more because I look for things I’d actually enjoy “test driving” for a week instead of whatever a typical rental company would assign to me. If you’re just looking to rent a crappy point A to point B vehicle I’d probably just go with one of the usual suspects.
When the entire WHEEL is smaller than the rims on most vehicles.
Also @agcon , I believe it is called a EcoSport. I was baffled that Ford would actually name a vehicle an Ecoboost (and that I was unaware of it), so I did a little research.
I am in a Genesis G70 driving from Northern California to Southern California. I thought it would be a luxury car but what a mistake. It drives ok but gets terrible gas mileage and is cramped especially in the back. But it was the best out of a miserable set of choices on the lot, unless a Camry, Altima, or Dodge Journey would have been better b
So you’re saying it’s not a luxury car because of gas mileage and back seat space?
What would you define as a luxury car? like what specific traits make it such
And a car phone or TV w/ an antenna out back!
Digging the scene with a gangsta lean.
I don’t know if a landau roof (from that area, at least) ever says “gangsta.” Maybe b/c some elderly neighbor who I REALLY dislike (and is totally NOT gangster) has a Cadillac DTS w/ a landau roof…
No worries…it’s Friday and I just had Curtis Mayfield on tap, awaiting happy hour.
Yeah I didn’t express my thoughts well. It wasn’t a luxury car IMO because the seats were uncomfortable, the tech features were 10 years out of date (low res backup cam, no surround view), no sunroof or pano roof, and the back seats in particular were uncomfortable for adults due to poor legroom, poor shoulder room, seat firmness and the car’s low position. On the plus side, it handled well and looks good. But I must say as a driver of cheap Chevy leases I’m no expert on luxury!
Edit: I also had the expectation that it would be better than the Mazda 6 or CX-5, but I prefer both of those to the G70.
I’m a terrible judge of luxury coming from Chevy leases. That said, what I would hope for in luxury: super comfortable seats, all the latest tech, spaciousness, pano roof, quietness, isolated ride.
Reading my own words i realize this probably reflects my 1980s rural US upbringing where a neighbor’s large Cadillac with power windows was luxury.
Pretty much. Add a “Broughm” badge, curb feelers, 8-track player, and a vinyl top and there you have it.
I miss my '79 Cutlass. It was a Caddy in disguise. Mine was this weird green, but with a cream colored vinyl top.
We had a late 70s Vista Cruiser wagon. My parents bought a new car only every 50 years, so my brother and I drove that masterpiece of fake wood side paneling to high school in the 1990s. Clearly we were the cool kids.
Lol. This is exactly what my wife said when she first saw my in laws Buick Encore when they first launched around 2013-2014, she said that’s not a car it’s a tuk tuk. They have leased/owned at least 2 more encores and one trax and they all have been donned the nickname tuk tuk.
Booked full size sedan with national & got free upgrade to an orange-ish Audi Q3 2021 albeit with 33k miles this weekend. It was in great condition though. They wanted to charge but manager told them to let me have it without me even asking.
Forgot to take a pic so here’s a random one from the internet.
