I believe they ar try to position the cars between full-size(Thao, Expedition, etc.’ and mid-size(Highlander, Pilot, etc.’) SUV’s with a price tag that appeals to customer that look for a slightly bigger mid-size SUV with some decent features.
I’m actually surprised the Ascent don’t have the same success.
I believe if more brands will introduce similar types of SUV’s, the market will change.
Anything is better than honda sense. The system was designed to emulate drunk driving. I actually liked subaru assist system, but the one in outback, I think 21 ascent finally got the same version
Subaru cheapened out on infortainment of ascent, sound insulation and spending on youtube influencers.
They then proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot with a ton of reliability problems in the first model year, which they fixed but that doesn’t change that internet is full of bashing of 2019 ascent.
Unlike Hyundai that spends so much effort on filling every site with shill comments that you would think that palisade is the greatest thing since sliced bread and has no issues whatsoever.
Is that what you think is going on here?

No, it’s actually pretty big.
@mattevan - not true anymore. Their design still sucks, but no cheap plastic there, at least in Limited and Touring. Besides, Subaru doesn’t pretend to be a luxury brand, unlike Kia/Hyundai with Telluride/Palisade.
