Mercedes G-Wagen EV discussion

Samet’in yerine agac koysa defansa daha faydali olur, hic olmazsa top falan carpar gecmez.
Bu mali niye aldilar zamaninda aklim almiyor.

Jesus cakti onu bize, isin garibi Montella da oynatiyor milli takimda. Adamda bizim goremedigimiz bir keramet var herhalde…

230 is similar to eqb range. It’s fine for most daily driving.

Any :unicorn: in 2025 yet?

What’d you find out when you put effort into it?

Just give me unicorn plz. Do you have any? What do you have for me?

Who knows, maybe Mercedes will have managed to make the first EV that doesn’t take a huge depreciation hit by, instead of designing a new, stupid looking funny car, turned one of their most desirable vehicles into an EV without changing anything but the powertrain.

Time will tell!

Currently in the LA market they’re selling at MSRP last time I checked. I haven’t seen not one on the road yet and imo LA is the G Wagon capital of the world haha. I think late winter we should see some aggressive deals. No dealership wants any car sitting around for 90 days or more.

The engine has been a big selling point historically for the G Wagons. Electric at this price point may not cut it. I think they would have been better off pricing the electric G Wagon at pre pandemic starting price point. These would have flown out of dealerships IMO.

Don’t forget the tank turn!

Many (most?) people who buy G-Wagon’s buy them to say they are driving a G-Wagon. Doubt what is or isn’t under the hood will change demand for these. I wouldn’t hold my breath for a deal on one, but we shall see.

I love the idea of the EV G 580 but at or near the same price point I’m getting a 2024 V8 G63.

The i4 and i5 aren’t new or stupid looking funny cars.

The i7 isn’t a new stupid looking funny car.

Genuine question for those disliking EVs: What makes it bad for you? Other than charging challenges, every EV I have driven are superior to comparable ICE vehicles. IMO, unless you are missing the unique ice features such as real engine sound and feeling gear changes, EV drivetrains are better for vast majority of consumers once charging infrastructure is solved.

The charging infrastructure limitations are what would make me think twice about them. I typically don’t like the way EV’s look aesthetically except for ones like the G Wagon and I7 that look virtually the same as their ICE counterparts. But other than that, I personally have no issue with them.

Same thing probably happened back when Electricity was first discovered/implemented, lots of nay-sayers, until it caught up-then nobody was missing their OIL LAMPS :joy:

Lol. I predict shift from ice to ev will resemble the shift from manual to automatic. There will be ice enthusiasts but they will be in the tiny minority.

Haha, yes, I love ICE too but for what $$$ I can get an EV, I’d rather drive an EV… I love those 12 month 911 S Cab deals from today, but I will have a hard time getting in-n-out of one haha, but if a GW EV was at $600 today, I’d sign for that
