Not totally sure I understand the purpose of electrifying this, half the fun of the G wagon was being obnoxiously loud for no reason at all.
That said, a deal and I’m tempted.

Bricks like these are crying out for electrification. No matter how turbo, super- or dual-charged something is, the torque is never instantaneous.

The gas AMG G-class ESP basically cut throttle by 90% when it detects more than 15* of steering angle because otherwise the people who drive these things would be laying them on their sides every time they tried to make a turn lol. The EV version probably just turns into a golf cart.
AMG versions have active body control, so it is hard to lay them sideways.
From what I have heard that is no longer the case, since the G550 is no longer a V8. Demand has gone down. 2025 G550 inventory is collecting on dealer lots. The 2024 G550 V8 “Final Edition” all went over msrp.

The only thing worse than not having it, is faking it. I’ve turned the fake sound off in all the EV’s I’ve driven.
Maybe I’m in the minority on this one, but I’m just not a fan. Hans Zimmer can compose the best fake sound in the world for BMW but it’s still that, a fake sound at the end of the day.

That’s explain now why when I try to make left turn into main road from parking lot and gas on my EQS it feels like I’m driving a single turbo, mofo won’t gas for a while 2-3 seconds. Has almost caused me to get rear ended cus I was timing my self to gas away after turning like speedy gongalez
