HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 3)

You did not get a tax credit on your lease. You received a $7500 incentive from ccap. Ccap got a tax credit on the jeep they purchased.

Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

With CCAP if your overpayment was less than $500 they will mail you a VISA gift card. If it’s over $500, they will issue a check. It takes about a month to reconcile their closed accounts.

Took over 60 days and hours on the phone to get the over payment from one of my sales. Even dealing with call center "Management ". Have some patience and your documents in order.

So other than the ā€œyou should make 3 payments to keep a dealer happyā€, any reason I shouldn’t be pre-shopping a flip to local dealers before even taking delivery? I should have a rubi flip built soon and love thought of having it sold before even picking it up. I can’t imagine a dealer giving you a hard time on an appraisal for something with 0 miles on it

That would be a great hack if you are able to pull it off. How would you go about this exactly?

If the above post is accurate in that other Jeep dealers will/can buy out your CCAP lease where you may only need to make 1 payment and you just won’t get an equity check until the title transfers to them:

  1. Once current order is in production with a somewhat firm delivery date…
  2. Contact as many local dealers as possible saying "hey I’m literally taking delivery of a '23 in the next couple weeks but don’t want to keep it, are you interested in buying it?
  3. Hopefully find a decent enough offer, agree on price and to deliver it as soon as I get it.
  4. Take delivery of Jeep from dealership order was placed with as little down as possible.
  5. Drive it straight to dealer from step 3
  6. Await equity check

Bonus points if the dealership buying it is also the one you ordered it from so it’s just a paperwork exercise

I realize this may burn some bridges down the line and YMMV

No harm in trying I guess. Selling it back to the same dealership for more would be epic. Please keep us posted.

My friend bought a Gobi Sahara from a dealer and the same dealer offered them 3k under MSRP within 45 days of delivery. Dealer reached out. So almost there.

Can you PM me the dealer? I know of a Gobi Sahara seller that would take 4k under MSRP right now and probably handle transportation as well. Thanks

Anyone here from Michigan no of any dealers?

If you look at the pre-owned 4xe’s as well as TRX etc in Dan Cummins inventory it looks like the majority were sold by them. Not sure what’s going on there.

Hi. I just received my $67K MSRP Gobi Rubicon 4XE complete with my Florida registration and plate. Via online buying services today, i got sad offers from $46K to $55K and a lot of ā€œwe will call you soons.ā€

Starting Monday I will contact local dealers. Who exactly do you ask for? For example… Used car manager? Internet sales? Or just email ā€œthemā€ the sticker price… No phone calls? Thanks

I flipped a 4xe and TRX from Dan Cummins in the last 3 weeks and when they were notified that I called for payoff they contacted me and my wife through email, call and text for a week straight.

Neither of us answered any of their communication.

I would not do this.

Shop it when it’s ready to be sold. You have such little leverage in this scenario. Market can change and minds can too.

You don’t want them to have time to mull it over because the offer will never go up and it allows time for them to do more research.

When I reach out, I’m ready for it to be picked up that day.

Just finished with Koons today to pick up my Rubicon 4xe today, and they charged the full 36 months tax even I lease from out of state. Will CCAP still charge me tax? how could I get this money back suppose.
and my experience with Koons is great. They showed up with the price we agreed on the email. But They can’t do anything with the tax being charged, saying that’s how their system work. One and half hour, drive my Rubi back home! Fantastic day!

If you put the VIN in AutoCheck, does it pull any records? If not, the offers may suffer. You should be okay with dealers as long as it pulls something on Carfax.

no, prices on 4xes have plummeted.

Did you have either for 3 months/payments?

It’s time not number of payments
