I’d say! I have a Sahara being built this week that I had sort of planned on passing on. I think I may be thinking that over again.lol

Mike from MoG emailed me and said my Gobi build has been pushed back to 7/13 now. At this rate, won’t see it till Aug/Sep timeframe. Hell, maybe some 23’s out before I see my 22. Was really hoping this was my keeper since I love the color but will either be a quick flip if market is still strong or just walk away and let MoG sell it for MSRP.
Hey guys, hoping someone can help with options here. Long story short, I’ve been watching these threads for a year. I recognize that the deal is no longer insanely good, but now just ‘really good’ as it relates to lease payment for a $60k car. I have two vehicles currently, and am toying with finally just getting a damn wrangler. Found a local dealer that will honor affiliate, and the vehicle is incoming in the next 2 weeks. I’d rather pay several thousand extra to have the 4xe now, in summer, than wait…
So with that said…
If lease, and with me likely goign to sell the car within 1-2 years (not go the full extent of the lease)
- If I have the funds to do a one pay, should i?
- If I buy the lease out, I know I pay sales tax on the full purchase price. I’d have to look at ohio tax law to see if I can get a refund of that sales tax I pay if I’m trading it in on another vehicle.
on the flipside…I could do a purchase
- My trade is high enough to where I"d pay very very little sales tax.
- I qualify for the $7500 credit (this would be my 4th ev so I know how this works).
Just trying to gauge if it even makes sense to explore the purchase, and I should just lease.

Lease, don’t buy. Your payments will be lower, especially if you do 1 pay. The $7,500 tax credit comes right off the top as a lease incentive from Stellantis. You’ll pay less sales tax on a lease than on the full purchase price.

Yeah, I hear you… I have a weird situation where I’d be trading in one of my vehicles regardless (GMTV, carvana) so I have the opportunity to actually use that trade value to my advantage by trading it in on a new purchase (and heavily saving sales tax, which benefits me in the short term or a flip). That said, I still think net net, the lease is smarter as I don’t have to put up a huge downpayment to get the payments similar. And that liquidity is definitely worth somethign to me right now.
Single pay for something you’ll have for a while should save you money. Have them put both sets of numbers together and feel free to share here once they’re put together.
Did they guarantee you the buy rate on the MF? That could be a way that even with 1% off they’ll stick it to you.
Don’t forget that your highest cost of ownership is depreciation. Fixed with a lease. If somebody rear ends you on the way home from the dealership (it has happened), your new 4xe is now worth $X less.

I sold one of mine without plates to a Jeep dealer - wouldn’t do again because I think I could have got more elsewhere had I waited.
Build has been in the following status for almost two weeks now, is this normal/accurate info?
‘I am showing that your vehicle has completed the build process and is pending quality inspections to ensure that standards are met prior to releasing the vehicle’
Estimated delivery still shows 07/17…

Anyone get a build sheet but still waiting on window sticker? My Gobi Rubi was built over 10 days ago but hasn’t generated a WS sticker yet.
Might be stuck in inspection status or waiting for some additional part. Noticed quite a few Rubi builds with April orders that have been built but no WS generated yet (from looking at Crypto)
Are they down on parts or something ?
It’s likely they are sent to JB to have additional items installed, all 4xe Rubi’s get sent there for the hood decals as well as other items that are options (hinge gate reinforcement, door sills, all weather mats, etc.). Mine was in JB for 8 days.
