HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 1)

,

leaselurker0000, any tricks to posting that 0-60 time? Traction on or off? 2 High or 4Auto?

One thing to note:

This forum has never been a Jeep heavy or Wrangler heavy group. Prior to the 4xe in April, I don’t recall seeing much Wangler activity.

Now, with all of the folks getting into 4xes, it has created a fanbase because people love the cars.

I think this says a lot about the enjoyment this car brings. And frankly, no one who buys a Wrangler expects it to be a great highway cruiser. It does everything else so well that this doesn’t matter to most, myself included.

“crying” … yeah, okay troll.

Being disappointed that a build took 3 months when some of the others took 1 month is different than crying over it. I said I would be happy to get my deposit back once the Jeep was built but I am equally happy to buy the damn thing. If I was crying over it, I would have asked for my deposit a good month or two ago. Hell I could even flip it here without even buying it from all the people that have DM’d me.

Regardless, I think this thread is tired of your bs. Good luck “hacking” anything …

I’m not a fanboy and I’m not gonna argue with you, but I am excited to take delivery of my 4XE please don’t come here to spoil that for me.

Yep…no risk/reward danger ratio here…wouldn’t even consider flipping…but of course I’m still in honeymoon phase, and it is a Jeep, so there’s that.

This would be incorrect on the 2021 4xE…can’t speak to the older models where there are plenty of ‘wandering’ steering box complaints.

Example: long, tedious commute I’ve done for decades, know every pothole, dip, rough patch and quirk on the journey. This Jeep eats the road…most of the tweaks I do in my commuter car are unnecessary in the Jeep…the suspension just responds to the oddities on the road surface almost as if they aren’t there. Transfer back to my commuter Jetta, and I have to negotiate the journey as usual.

It’s not worth engaging any further

We should just carry on as we were

Definitely not. I have had an occasion where it does remind me it is a truck. That’s how good it is.

You are looking at a hammer and complaining that it’s not a wrench.

At the end of the day, Wranglers are special vehicles for the young and I don’t mean age; I mean spirit. I’m sure something in the Lexus lineup is more your style.

And for an old few, it’s out first ‘hybrid’ EV, and the sheer enjoyment of cruising down the avenue quietly while being able to hear everything around you, is practically a brand new experience. Saving when I started riding motorcycles, there was no helmet law, but you were sputtering noxious fumes full time.

I’m relieved I have your blessing. So the real problem is flipping…when did you first show signs of having ‘dangerous’ flipping issues.

For the best results off the line:

  • Hybrid mode
  • 4 Auto
  • Traction off
  • Brake tq for a couple of seconds to get the motor to turn on (lol) and to build a little boost

I read somewhere that if you try to launch in 2wd it won’t give you all the power off the line, so I keep it in 4 Auto. That combo nets a very consistent 0-60. My run was done with ~550 miles on the ODO and 1,615 ft Density Altitude. I did not correct to sea level conditions. Frankly, I haven’t tried it again since.

Here are the exact numbers:

  • 2.00 60 ft
  • 5.71 330 ft
  • 8.79@80.15 1/8 mi
  • 11.45@91.72 1000 ft
  • 13.70@100.17 1/4 mi

Here’s the 0-60 breakout:

  • 0.46 0-10
  • 1.11 0-20
  • 1.97 0-30
  • 2.86 0-40
  • 4.09 0-50
  • 5.33 0-60

5.11 0-60 with a 1 foot rollout (what the car magazines use).

Because it’s a good deal and people like them? :man_shrugging:t2:

You asked if people actually loved their wranglers and now are getting mad that the answer they’re giving you isn’t in line with your expectations?
