Your math looks to be about right. Unfortunately, at $.31 kw/h, you’re paying DC fast charging rates, which the jeep doesn’t need and can’t take advantage of. That’s really not the most economical charging option for you. If your main reason for looking at a 4xe is the phev nature of it, it probably isn’t the right option.
It depends on station. Some are free, some (like at my work) take 40 cents to recharge the battery. Some others around here in town work out to the equivalent of $5/gallon.
Yea that pricing is not ideal/beneficial at all. EV cost benefits really come from at home charging / workplace charging. My at home charging comes out to one third to half the price of gas in CA. There are some networks of free public chargers (Targets for example) as well. You can use the Chargepoint app to find free / cheaper charging stations around you. Worst case I’d say you basically just got a nice discount on regular jeep with the added benefit of occasional “free/cheaper travel”.
Edit: I also saw something about free charging on the Electrify America network. Maybe look into that for more info? It’s on the Jeep website.
They contacted me this morning letting me know it’s arrived. They said they got quite a few of them so my guess is they have it. I’d call
My exact configuration!! I can’t wait. Mine is at port
As a reference point for the thread, on my Sahara with ~1,500 miles and a $55,680 MSRP. Northeast Ohio zip code.
- Carvana = $45,117
- ALgo = $48,400
- Givemethevin = $47,186 - $49,193
Waiting on what Vroom says but I understand they can’t buy 3rd party leases now, right?
What part of the country?
Northeast Ohio. I’ll revise the post to include that.
Thanks - thats very helpful.
So about 6-7k profit with the highest offer (assuming 8-9% off MSRP)? Pretty solid!
Where did you order from?
Hardtop, soft top or SOT? What’s your payoff? Did you get an offer from CarMax?
I was told today mine arrived to the port, ETA to the dealership is somehow between 7-14 days. Exploring shipping options from LA to FL
Whoa, is it too late to hop on this train? Thinking about ordering a Rubicon
What was your build/window sticker date?
Gupton in TN.
Unfortunately not, I didn’t order through any of the available options. I took a ground unit on 6/30 with Affiliate pricing, so only 4-5% off sticker. As a result, my current payoff is $47,17x.
@Ttxi body-color hardtop, see above for payoff, and no go with Carmax yet. They can’t do an online appraisal, so I’m going in on Friday afternoon.
Spec on the car is proximity, remote start, cold weather, body-color hardtop, sarge green. $55,680 which is after the initial price increase round, but not the latest one. To match the spec now would be ~$56,900.
If any of these options work out, I’d love to order a 2022 but with a few differences including the color and the premium soft top vs. the body-color hardtop. My current hardtop never comes off and the soft top is a bit easier to get off in a hurry.
On my PO with Gupton, Daniel included “RV OF 62% @ 10K IS SOLD ORDER PROTECTED (AS LONG AS CONTRACTED WITHIN 14 DAYS AND ORDERED UNDER THE SAME NAME THAT WILL BE ON THE CONTRACT.)” I took that to mean I have 14 days to pick up the car when it arrives at the dealership. And if I don’t make it in 14 days, then I just lose out on the sold order protection. Not the Jeep.
That seems ridiculous.
