Funniest/most ridiculous dealer replies you've ever gotten

Hello Sharks, my name is @mattevan from New York, New York–the Big Apple!–and I’d like to pitch you on renting a $50,000 Kia for the low, low price of only $35,000.

It is gray, if I may add.

Shouldn’t be, sure, but with the irresponsible use of stimulus funds I’ve seen by some, it’s a prime group to market towards

Did you get your Stimulus Payment? It’s time to come down to Kunkleman Chevrolet and talk to STIMMY TIMMY for the deal of a lifetime!

This is relatively normal - Not allowed to touch specifically the wolf gray telluride’s. My dealer sold one at $10k over sticker before it even hit the lot.

Going back many years when my wife and I were in college her car was totaled in a parking lot. We were out looking for a cheaper, used replacement at a Dodge dealership (which went of business within its first five years too). I don’t remember what she was looking at, but I know it wasn’t anything crazy. I still recall the salesperson telling her that she had “champagne wishes and beer pocket money” from the sales lot without any negotiations! Ended up buying a new Cavalier to finish out college.

It’s like casinos offer to cash your paycheck, I don’t think that’s allowed anymore lol

This was in 2016 when I was leasing for the first time. Granted I probably wasted this salesperson’s time, but his response when I told him I went with a different car left a bad taste in my mouth.

Haha my local dealership has been moving their M3/M4’s for $10k ADM. It’s insane

He isn’t wrong though. We would run when we saw an Infiniti pull in the lot at BMW.

Was gonna say, I don’t really think I’d cross shop a Q50 with any BMW really, seems like you were deal shopping, not car shopping @hysnbrg

I was at the time, but I ended up with a 335 anyway.
Just not that 335, and not through him.

I suddenly had to ask a service or parts advisor a time sensitive question that could not wait.

I was not making a statement about long term reliability, just agreeing with the general theme of people being upside down on Infiniti leases. My parents still have the 04 Infiniti G35x with 170k miles that I had in high school (they keep it for if my brother or I visit and need a car), so I am happy with Infiniti’s long-term reliability.

It was just very common for someone driving an Infiniti to come into the BMW/Audi dealer after a year or two on their lease and try to get into a new car for the same payment being thousands upside down with poor credit. It was not worth the effort and we would let the green pea tackle them for “experience”.

But I am not going to turn this into another Palaside vs the world thread. Each car has their own merit regardless of who actually buys them.
