Wow that’s not a fun experience. Hope you get into a new one as soon as possible.
However, I wouldn’t jump to blame the dealer, saying they took it for a joyride. Could have easily been the shipping company or the factory (based on the photos). How many miles were on the odometer? I know its a pain to wait another 6 months, but they already gave you another 2k off, I wouldn’t overly push your luck as right now there is nothing tying them to the deal other than an unsatisfied customer. Anyways, best of luck
Only has 3 miles today according to the GM. I couldn’t confirm since it was on the lift. Yesterday when I seen my vehicle there was no issues. There was no oil spots anywhere. My salesman even told me they drove my car from their reserve lot to the dealership yesterday. How was it able to be drive yesterday but not today? How can a transport truck blow a hole through thick metal? When i got to the dealer yesterday, the same 18 wheel semi that delivered mine was also unloading a Demon, the flat bed was all made of wood.
In 3 miles, I doubt anyone took it for a joyride. Didn’t understand that you saw it with no issues then there were issues – strange. However, if somehow, the tire of the car slipped off of the rails of the car carrier, you could expect damage like that.
lmaoo no way!! The truck was unloading cars in front of the dealerships ceiling to floor windows where everyone had a nice view to see. Someone would of seen an incident like that easily!
But yes this is all very strange!
Oh okay makes a lot of sense now. lol, slow learner over here.
These were the only pics I took the day before. There were no oil streaks anywhere near the car or from where the car was moved after delivery.
Like @nyclife I was thinking it could have slipped when coming on or off of a transporter, it’s even more likely to happen with a high HP car but if it was close to the dealership they would see or would know soon after when they saw the pool of oil. They normally do a handover visual check as well.
I’m keeping my eye on a Charger SRT392 myself, good luck with the new car when you get it. At least it’s only 6 weeks, if it were built in Europe you’d be waiting ~4 months.
That’s exactly what I thought as well. There would have been an obvious streak of oil left behind. It’s so hard to believe the trailer caused the damage because I was informed that the car was moved after PDI (post delivery inspection) to the reserve lot (half mile away), but it was later moved back to the dealer lot after I told my salesman i would be stopping by to look at the car. How could it run fine one day then quit overnight? I will never know what really happened unfortunately.
Odd situation, are there any curbs? Any damage to the wheels? You know it could also be from being put on a lift incorrectly. Maybe that’s what happened? One of the “mechanic/s” put it on the lift and set the arms incorrectly, causing the car to fall? Hm…who knows.
I checked every wheel and no damage! The wheels are one of my favorite specs on the car so I paid extra attention to them.
Then most likely the only other logical explanation I can think of is being put on the lift incorrectly. Besides that, maybe a decepticon got hungry
Do they have a Hellcat on the lot? They lease
much better vs the SRT’s given all the leverage you have not bad idea to explore.
I can guarantee you $50,150 is not EP pricing on that unit.
They have no Hellcats in stock and no allocations to order one either.
Guarantee ay? Can you provide proof so I can take it to the dealer? GM showed me a sheet with the EP price. I’ll get a copy this afternoon and post it.
Post the invoice so I can see
You don’t have to have allocation to order a sold unit.
Sure thing. Will be at the dealer by 4:30PM and will put it up after.
Come again? I’m confused now.
