FINAL UPDATE! 2018 Challenger SRT 392 - $412/Month! (Factory Order)

Their quote was with Chrysler financial. So if I did get IDL, my monthly will drop to under $400 with higher MF. I am going to VA next week with wifey so might stop by to see if they even want to play ball.

Same exact thing happened to me. I asked for a quote with the IDL lease bonus, and the dealer went MIA. They wont answer my calls, voicemails, emails, I dont get it!

Yeah. I actually got corporate Dodge involved on this matter. They said they will contact the dealership on why they are “pulling out” of the deal. A sale is a sale and Dodge pays for the IDL, not the dealership

Back when I was looking at Chargers, some dealers in my area weren’t set up to do independent leases. So that could be the problem.

Any frankly, given the lousy reputation of US Bank (not sure about Ally), I might be inclined to accept a lesser deal just to lease with Chrysler instead. If I recall correctly, loaded SRT 392’s were around $58k, so $499/mo isn’t terrible (IMO).

Wow their looking to pocket that cash. Something about the SRT’s that dealers play hard ball compared to the other trims.

I spoke with Dodge directly stating if I do lease with non Chrysler bank, they will get me a check for $7,000+$1,000 conquest to me. So I might ask them for a quote with Ally to see how much it is then call dodge to cut me a check

sweet keep us posted thanks!

None of the dealers want to play ball. I might just wait April 3rd to see new Dodge deals. I got an e-mail from Dodge as proof they will send me $7,000 IDL check in the mail once all paperwork is signed.

I wouldn’t bank on that, it could end up being a huge pain to deal with that.

True. Good point but I rather take the 7,000 upfront against the lease. I am going up to NJ end of April so I know I will have better luck than southern states

Try midwest for dodge deals.

Unfortunately you’ll have a tough time in NJ too!

What midwest delaers will bite? Ohio?

Yep that is where I would start looking.

I went back and forth with the dealer in Mi for the Charger SRT 392. They worked in the $10k incentive, but messed with the residual to show 50% after 3 years 10k miles a year. These SRT’s have a strong residual in the 60% range after 3 years, and when I called them out on it, he told me to go somewhere else!

They can’t really mess with the residual it is set by the lender.

While I was working on my SRT deal at the dealer, the sales manager was assisting another customer and I over heard him say we cannot change the residual as the customer complained that it was too low. 10 minutes later the sales managers walked over to the customer and said he was able to change the residual for him to lower the monthly payment. I didn’t understand what was going on as I too thought it could only be changed by the bank.

As previously stated, the dealer cannot change the RV. What the manager probably did was run numbers through another bank and that’s now the numbers changed.

I still have no luck on this as dealers keep avoiding the questions I ask. I might just end up buying a used MB or BMW at this rate

BAD AND GOOD UPDATE!!!

It was supposed to be one of the best days of my life. My SRT was finally delivered at the dealership yesterday morning. Me being so excited, I left work early just to take a look at the car. It looked amazing! Unfortunately, I could not take the car home as they were waiting on the title to go through. My plan was to return back today and sign the papers and drive off with the vehicle. THEN, at 2:00PM I get the worse call you can get when it concerns a car, dealership, and transportation company. My salesman calls and says, “Hi Robert, we have some bad news, something bad happened to your car”. My heart immediately sank and at that point I was sure that I wouldn’t be driving the car home today. He went on further to say the engine was damaged and it was not derivable. He then says it may have been damaged during transportation. At that point I immediately left work and began the 1-hour trip to the dealership.

When I get to the dealer and see my salesman, his look on his face said it all. We went to the shop out back where my car was on the lift while 8 mechanics were just standing around the vehicle. Immediately you can see the fresh oil leaking all over the floor. There was also significant damage on the exhaust pipes and car frame. But the worse damage was the oil pan. The GM came over and instantly started putting the blame on the transport company, but I wasn’t buying it.

The GM says they were investigating how it could have happened. He also said someone from Chrysler was on there way to look at the damage. But I honestly think someone at the dealer went for a joy ride and caused this damage. The damage was too significant to be caused by a flatbed transport truck. How could a flat bed cause metal to bend while blowing a huge hole through the oil pan? His explanation made no sense.
The GM said they could get everything replaced which I was against. He then says he could take a few thousand off the price to make me whole which at that point made me listen. Moments later the Chrysler rep shows up and starts surveying the damage. 30 minutes later he informs the GM that the car will have to be bought back by Chrysler as the damage was too significant. At this point I thought it was over and the SRT God’s would have there way in keeping me out of the team.

The GM said he would talk to the owner to see what could be done. He offered to order another vehicle at the “EP” price, which apparently is only offered to FCA factory workers. With the EP discount, the sale price would be $50,150. My original sale price was $52,000. I questioned if he would lock in my April’s incentives including the MF/RV for when the car gets delivered in which he responded with a flat “NO”. I told him to speak to FCA and the owner about making me whole and proceeded to walk out the dealer. 1.5 hours later he calls and says that FCA will pay the difference of April’s invectives vs when the car drops. I thought that was a GREAT deal considering my new payment will now be $436/month, includes taxes!! But I still think it wasn’t enough because the dealer says FCA was taking the blame for the damage. I asked for another 1k off but was told that I should come in to meet with the owner for that request. The GM stated he just ordered the car and will hold the $436 payment pending another discount by the owner. I plan on meeting the owner tomorrow so hopefully he can sweeten the deal even more.

Although I am still very upset that I waited 6 weeks for nothing, I was very satisfied with the outcome and how they were able to make things right. The only bad part is waiting for another 5 to 6 weeks. The GM said he would have this expedited but I’m not buying it.

Sorry for the long rant but it was that much of a crazy afternoon. See pictures of the damage.
