Maybe a lot of people do, I don’t and didn’t.
I agree here.

I agree here.
you in texas and you leased a 2 year without sales tax credit.
I don’t know. Ride it along or park it uncovered during thunderstorms.
I’m paying $100 less per month for an EV6 lease and that was with zero down. After 2 Teslas I’m not buying any more cars from Elmo, but only you can decide if you got screwed.
The new M3 is a better car than the base or mid-level ioniq5 and EV6 - that’s what you get at comparable prices. I know cause I’m crunching the numbers right now. If you want the same features as the Model 3 in either of those cars you need to go for the Limited Trim and that’s just way too expensive. Even after that, the interior of the Model 3 is better.
Just because it has the same feature, it doesn’t mean the quality of the trim is the same. YMMV of course.
The new Model 3 actually has a pretty good interior. Feels much better than the ioniq 5, EV6 etc. of course comparing it with a BMW might not be an apples to apples comparison since they are a luxury brand with a price tag to match it.
I took a test drive of the Model 3 recently and it looked great. The shifters on the screen took a second to get used to - luckily they have backup shifters near your cabin lights in case your tablet goes dark for whatever reason. This was still easy to get used to though - the turn signals on the steering wheel are what took the longest to get used to on that test drive.
I would still prefer a minimalist look rather than providing three bulky stalks (what was Hyundai thinking?)
The point I’m making is that at the price tag of their top trims I would rather just go for an i4 or similar premium brand. The Ioniq 5 especially is bad with the interior because of the old style shiny plastic buttons and knobs.
What are the numbers and what are the features?
Leasing a Tesla in TX forces you to pay the full 6.25% sales tax on sales price of vehicle. Leasing in TX can be advantageous in some situations where sales tax credits are available. That’s usually the game changer here.
Won’t get the sales tax credits on Tesla though.
I will still get M3 RWD Stealth grey $299 per month plus $2999 down or roll into the payments. Will get 36/10 or 36/12.
I drove it and its fun to drive and look much sharper then the prior model 3.
Cant imagine buying Kia, after all its a Kia.
The money you spend you could have got BMW i4 another fun to drive car or MB EQS/EQE.
Compared to a model 3, driving an EQE is an actual prize.
I grabbed one of the inventory models at the end of January. 24 Mos., $5,555 down in CT. The state gives everyone $2,250 towards and EV and Tesla applied the $7,500 federal rebate. I live in an “economic justice zone,” (think formerly redlined area), so I got another $2,000 off. At the end of the day, we put down $1,001 and have an all-in payment of $320.90/month. We did 24 mos. ($8,381.70 total) but could have gone 36 ($12,232.50 total). The car is amazing- like The Bandit’s Trans Am had a baby with a Mini Cooper S. The only minor drawback is that it’s a closed-end lease. Tesla wants it back for it’s RoboTaxi fleet. My car doesn’t have a rear screen, ventilated seats, or that cool light bar, but the driving dynamics are amazing, so I’m super stoked.
If it’s me, no way I would pay this much for a model 3. You can get a mercedes EQS for less in April. Even now, I would get a lucid air or lyriq over a model 3 any day for the same price.
If I have to choose between ev6 vs Tesla, I take kia anyday.
I have numbers for Ioniq 6 handy right now - from what I know Ioniq 5’s have comparable trims but more expensive since more space (crossover/SUV).
Disclaimer - These are without discounts, just pure numbers using manufacture rebates. It does not include taxes and govt fees, but does include acquisition fee and other dealer fees (to the best of my knowledge). It’s my first time leasing so I’ve been trying to get all the numbers right. The ioniq 6’s in the PNW are hard to get right now so I’m assuming that prices for them would be roughly the same with maybe small discounts.

Just comparing the Ioniq-6 SE/SEL and Model 3 features -
I was looking at an EV6-GT and my wife said the same. Ewww you’re not really getting a Kia are you? I was like well it’s a Kia but it’s a 500 HP sports car Kia. Didn’t matter. It’s a Kia, it’s gross.
This is one of the things that really shouldn’t matter. Once you adjust the seat a few times and find the right setting, you’ll never touch it again.
That’s not particularly helpful then as it’s a completely academic exercise. Check Marketplace for discount levels and let’s talk real numbers.
$515 with $515 DAS eqe 350 suv 4 matic, yes its a loaner, but i got more than 1 screen lol
Same thing can be said as Tesla.
After 2+ years with a Model 3, I will say this is not minor. This is actually a major negative of the car. Interior becomes 115+ after just a few hours in the sun in 75 degree weather
