Deal check: 2025 Chevy Equinox EV 24 / 12k | $4144 one pay

[Feb 10 edit: See post further down for the completed lease deal for a 2025 Chevy Equinox EV]

Ignore old deal info below originally used to start this thread as the unit sold before I could agree on a price with the dealer.

Deal check - 2024 Chevy Equinox EV 24 / 12k | $229 per mo; $0 down
Hello Hackers: Negotiate further or take it?

LH Calculator
Note - I had to really bump up the MF to get to the numbers the dealer is quoting me.

Quote for 2024 Chevy Equinox EV 24/12k - used as a courtesy transportation unit with 1500+ miles on it - $228 per month including TX state taxes and title and registration fees, no down payment

$5,472 total monthly payments [couldn’t get the calculator to exactly match as it shows $400 more, not sure why)
One pay $4,655 (The dealer hasn’t offered that but I assume it will be available)

Am in TX and will have to drive ~5 hours to a neighboring state to pick this up. For a really good deal and for the color of my choice, I’m willing to do that. Also there seems to be little inventory locally currently of either 2024 or 2025 units in my budget.

No state tax credits available.

After explicitly having to ask, I learned it has ‘minor dent damage’. The sales person said their service shop would fix it at no cost and make it look brand new. and shared a photo of the damage.

I’m thinking to respond asking for a monthly payment between $146 to $177 might be possible by lowering the MF to currently available 0.00006. But low on inventory - of the 3 2024s Equinox EVs on the lot, 2 have sold in past few days. This is the only one remaining.

Am I eligible for one pay? I see in a post by @chevycoach that some criteria has to be met for one pay like Rebates: Supplier, bolt, lease, GM card sign up but which I don’t meet - don’t have bolt, lease.

Currently LH RateFindr for 2024 Chevy Equinox EV also shows $1500 Courtesy Transportation Unit retirement rebate. Anyone know what requirements needs to be met for that so if applicable, I can ask the dealer to apply that?

Also so far this seems to be the best quote I got. I have another quote from a local dealer in TX closer to me offering some tax credits - currently at $301 per month with $1301 down payment. Total of $8,224 without one pay
But they’re using a MF of 0.0016 and so far not willing to go lower.

You can do a one pay without those rebates, but the prices shown for the one pays I posted are including those rebates.

I couldn’t get your deal sheet numbers to work in the calculator either…my guess is that they are including the extra 1500 loaner incentive but only showing 3000 incentive in the quote. calc is closer now Leasehackr Calculator - Hack your next lease | Leasehackr

woops, not zero due at signing…

Everyone is eligible for onepay. Onepay lease just decreases your MF so you have to pay lower interest.
The more rebates you qualify for the lower your payment would be (for both the monthly lease or onepay lease).

Also, you can just DM me if you need help with the calculator or stacking up your rebates. I, however, don’t know any brokers in TX.

Can the Chevy website inventory be relied upon to get an idea of total cost, rebates and payments?

For example, within 270 miles of Dallas, it’s showing these Equinox EVs available.
$6/mo with $2500 down payment for 24/10k
Or more realistically, $158 / mo with no down payment for 24/12k

It’s also showing me some eligible discounts. For example, there seems to be a new category called Lease Cash allowance of $1,500 that started showing up only today. Anyone know what it is? Does it apply to ALL leases?

Can I use the numbers on this website (along with LH data points & tips) as a starting point to put together a lease deal to approach dealers?

Well this 2024 unit sold before I could agree on a number with the dealer. These Equinox’s are selling really fast! Thanks to everyone who provided their input. I used all the valuable advice to propose this deal instead but this time with a local dealer in DFW and for a 2025 rather than a 2024 which I hope to sign on Monday.

Deal details copy paste below from another thread closed by admin with a request to keep all related posts in one thread.

Using the amazing knowledge learned here, I emailed an offer to a Chevy internet sales manager in DFW - one-pay $3,236 on a 2025 Equinox EV with Convenience Package 1 for 24/12k.

Within a few hours, he’d countered with a best and final offer via email of $4,144 which I accepted shortly thereafter. I don’t have a detailed breakdown from the dealership of how they arrived at that number, so assuming the LH calculator will look like this.

LEASEHACKR

CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR

Discounts / Rebates assumed that I qualify for: $4,750 total

  1. Feb lease cash allowance on 2025 LT trim: $1750
  2. Conquest [Non GMC 2011 or later]: $1500
  3. GM Supplier: $1000
  4. GM new credit card: $500 [with min $1000 down at time of lease]

Seems like a good deal compared to what I’ve seen so far in LH for TX in 2025 across Marketplace, Signed and Signed Deals & Tips.

Am planning to sign this on Monday and put the entire amount on the new GM credit card. Would appreciate thoughts of experienced hackers on this deal.

Also suggestions on getting a good deal on my trade-in? It’s a 20 yr old car in only “average” shape at best. Usually dealers lowball trade-in values.

Thanks @anique for sharing List of places to sell or value your car online - will start with that.

Please point any other specific threads that might help.

Know when to make a deal.

Sell it private party. You’re going to get 50% at best by trading it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll probably complete getting the trade-in estimate since I’ve already started the process. But strongly leaning towards selling private party as I don’t need to trade in to finance this lease.

Came across this helpful article on Consumer Reports on how to get more money when selling your used car.

Successfully picked up the vehicle from the dealership. I’ll post the signed contract soon.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the vehicle, the two tone color, and the driving experience.

Many thanks again to those who willingly shared their knowledge on the forum and directly by responding to this post. It was certainly the encouragement I received from these responses that kept my hope up when I lost the earlier deal on the 2024 model and soon after land this even better deal on the 2025 model.

Thanks @anique @ChevyCoach @gohawks23 @delta737h @ElectricEliminator @paranoidgarliclover @Nom_De_Plume @max_g @LeaserOC @Thundereg and many many others for sharing their helpful knowledge on LH.

Final numbers: CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR

Includes $450 in excess wear and tear insurance which I decided to take for peace of mind as we’re a ding prone family and this is my first time leasing. So total out the door one-pay price was $4,636 (actually $4775 as dealership charged 3% credit card fees to pay with a card)

At the dealership, it took ~8 hours to get through the process vs my plan of 2 hours tops. Many steps took longer than expected and there were some unexpected obstacles to navigate including an unexpected price increase of ~$600 which the dealer ultimately agreed to not pass on to me after I protested. It was tied to wrong instructions on how to apply for the GM card to get $500 rebate. The card application has to be originated by a specific URL the dealer shares and not just via a google search as the sales person had informed me.

Happy to take Qs and share my knowledge (limited as it might be).
