Buick Regal Tour X

Oh, I’m sure it will be gone in short order. Just not in 2019.

In the meantime, I’m waiting for residual to drop to 40% on a 36/12 lease. Maybe by March
Shame too…I had a last gen, and it was a fun car to drive.

why do you want residual to drop?

I was being a smartass. The residual has tanked all year. This car is, in all likelihood, never going to be a good lease candidate. GM doesn’t want them back at term.

So there are finally decent purchase deals on the TourX. In my area, it’s about $6200 in incentives in an Essence (needed for the heated seats, unfortunately). So $10-$11k off MSRP on a purchase looks to be easily doable:

Anyone tried for a lease? I’d obviously rather go this route, and December is often a good time for GM.

lease numbers are still terrible. You’re much better off buying this.

Numbers are for 15k…adjust accordingly per below
(Add 1 pt for 12k + 2pts for 10k @ 24-27).
(Add 2 pts for 12k + 3pts for 10k @ 36-39)
(Add 3pts for 12k + 4pts for 10k @ 42-48)

YES, the numbers are worse on the 19 than the 18.

2018 Essence or Preferred AWD Wagon

  • 24 27 36 39 42 48

  • 56 54 47 44 42 37

2019 Essence or Preferred AWD Wagon

  • 56 53 44 41 39 34

18 MF: .00103 for 24-27, .00129 for 36-39, .00177 for 42-48
***Zero lease cash

19 MF: .00144 for 24-27, .00116 for 36-39, .00183 for 42-48
***Zero lease cash

TBH if the Buick warranty was better, something like VW…then I might be tempted by the purchase. $24k is pretty appealing for this hauler. (not that I need this amount of space) but it looks so damn good.

The warranty is 4/50k B2B + 6/70k for Powertrain. Better than a Chevy, but not as good as VW.

'19 numbers for January…stayed the same from December…mf increased though. 18 lease support has ended.

Numbers are for 15k…adjust accordingly per below
(Add 1 pt for 12k + 2pts for 10k @ 24-27).
(Add 2 pts for 12k + 3pts for 10k @ 36-39)
(Add 3pts for 12k + 4pts for 10k @ 42-48)

5DR WGN ESSENCE AWD
24 27 36 39 42 48
56 53 44 41 39 34

5DR WGN PREFERRED AWD
24 27 36 39 42 48
56 53 44 41 39 34

MF: .00148 for 24-27, .00120 for 36-39, .00188 for 42-48
Zero lease cash

My understanding is that the current gen is a lot less enjoyable to drive (and perhaps doesn’t even have the quiet interior Buicks are famous for).

Kind of sad that the TourX is facing this kind of fate… But we have an “Enspire” possibly coming in the near future, Buick is presumably focusing its efforts elsewhere…

For those looking for a Regal, you better act fast…Forget a decent lease though…this has buy written all over it, as it has since it hit the lots.

Damn it. If only Buick saw sense to give this decent lease support! - I imagine they would shift quite a few if they were at the $250 a month point - and think of all the lovely dirt cheap off lease examples we’d have in 3 years time then too!

I suspect they don’t want them back, especially since Opel isn’t theirs anymore, further hurting resale.

I haven’t driven one, but I’m seriously considering picking up a used CPO within 6 months. Hopefully the prices continue to plummet so I can get an Essence for under $20k.

With GMs known to have resale values in the toilet, that shouldn’t be a problem. I just bought a CPO ATS with 22k on the clock for under 15k. This car stickered near 40k just 2 years ago.

Residuals will probably be low at first, to move units. GM will give up on this car before 4 or 5 years and the values will plummet. I’d prefer the Volvo, tried and trusted.

Per earlier posts, the RVs were already in the toilet last year (~40% for 36 month leases). There are couple loaners in chitown advertised at under $29k ($40k+ MSRP).

GM already gave up on this car. It’s being produced by Opel under contract, and GM sold off Opel. It’s being killed off with no GM in-house replacement, at least for the US market.

I’m also not sure why a GM isn’t “Tried and trusted.” It’s not like they started making cars yesterday. I had the previous gen Regal 2.0 Turbo, and all I needed was oil changes and tire rotations. The 2.0 is a strong engine.

“Low” residuals is not what makes a good lease. High ones are (artificial or not), along with strong incentives/dealer discount + low MF. This car has not had good lease support since launch, and will never have it if they’re killing it off. They don’t want them back at term.

Yeaaaah, I think i’d be the complete opposite. I’d lease a new Volvo fo sho but buy? Hmm.

I think the TourX is the more of the tried and tested platform, it’s certainly less complex than the turbocharged, supercharged Volvo’s with notoriously finickity infotainment screens.

I’ve seen a bunch of reviewers complain about the volvo infotainment set up, and other than the earlier ones being a little slow to boot up, I think most of the complaints are less about the system being finicky and much more about the system being not what they’re used to.
