BMWFS received the title today. 12/12 doesn’t look like they will finish it up though, no matter how much I beg and plead!
Me: please do what you can it would be a Christmas miracle!
BMWFS:

FWIW I just saw emails that showed 2 hours between completion of stage 2 and completion of stage 3.
I would advise calling them, maybe it will work better for you than it did for me!
No go on the call unfortunately. Does anyone have experience or stories of things going wrong after stage 2 ?
Dont rush it. Stay patient. Wait for Stage 3 completion email.
Thanks. Stage 3 email came this morning.
Just got the email this morning, 12/18.
Assumption complete.

I was wondering why so many BMWs are swapped. You hate those cars that much or what? ![]()
I had 530 and x5 as a rentals a few times and i loved them.
I have a question- when does a transferor usually request transferee cash due/BMW fees due? BMW will ask for $500 from the initiator correct?
BMW will ask for the transfer fee to start the transfer process
Monday credit app and approval
Tuesday stage two docs received and submitted
Wednesday stage two docs acknowledged
Thursday stage three completion
BMW is the GOAT of lease transfers
Because this site is full of car degenerates (myself included) who start looking for their next lease after 90 days.
Completed the paperwork from CA to IL.
Stage 1: Started Jan 6
Stage 1: Completed Jan 8
Stage 2: Started Jan 9
Stage 2: Completed Jan 12
Stage 3: Completed Jan 13
Yep BMW will ask leasor for $500 plus tax to initiate the transfer, if the prospect leasee fails to get approved they will credit you the money towards your next month’s payment.
Current NY→MD transfer took 7 days from submitted app to vehicle surrender to new owner as requested by BMWFS.
After a matter of weeks I couldn’t wait to get rid of my M550.
For a while there was a glut (relative to their sales volume) of ultra low mileage X3Ms up for transfer here.
The iX seems to have assumed this role lately, with many of those languishing un-transferred for weeks or months. (I decided on a test drive that I couldn’t even endure a cheap loaner for a few months, so I dodged this bullet.)
OTOH I recently sold my 750 after ~6 years, and really hated to see it go. While it wasn’t exactly fun, it was one of the best cars I’ve had.
For me at least, longer term BMW prospects vary dramatically by model.
This has to be some type of record for BMW FS. Less than 48-hour transfer process CA > CA.
Stage 1: Called BMW FS on Monday (1/19) at 1 pm with transferee’s name and email (ended up having to call back around 3 pm to have them send a paper app to transferee since credit app link wasn’t working); transferee emailed credit app to BMW FS that evening.
Stage 2: BMW FS approved transferee Tuesday (1/20) at 8:30 am and Stage 2 docs sent to us within 30 minutes to eSign. We both submitted by noon. Stage 2 complete email came in at 1 pm same day.
Stage 3: Assumption Complete email at 7:15 am on Weds (1/21).
Paper title was obviously in house already on this one, which made for an insanely quick transfer.
Thats amazing.
I don’t think mine will be topped since BMWFS is parked in Ohio, but CA to anywhere in that timeframe is impressive nonetheless!
Does anyone know if the final stage 3 docs are emailed to transferee or does it arrive by mail still? Or both?
