It takes PFS more time to just send a credit app than it does for BMWFS to do a whole transfer.
Gonna get weird when VW realizes their last remaining brand of value is decaying as wellâŚ
These other states have it good - spent nearly 4 weeks doing my CA to CA transfer⌠![]()
CA to anywhere takes forever. They have to request the physical title from California, which takes the state eternity.
Yep⌠as I discovered with this transfer. I find it interesting that BMW has to request physical title but GM lease transfers donât have that requirement. Wonder where the difference comes from.
Iâm not smart enough to know, but Iâm guessing itâs for the same reason that GM only allows same state transfers.
Oh yeah good point - forgot about that LOL
Clearly youâre smarter than me for thinking of that
It takes CA DMV more time to just find a working typewriter and to choose which carrier pigeon to send a title with than it does for BMWFS to do a whole transfer.

WA to CA Lease Transfer
GA to FL took 2 business days:
Oct 20 - Stage 1 started
Oct 21 - Stage 2 complete
Oct 22 - Stage 3 complete
Thatâs about 1/10th what itâd be going the other way CA to XX.
BTW, ran into a rare snag with BMW on Fri 10/31: started Stage 1 early am but they never sent anything out until I called them later and they had to push it thru. Blamed on some technical glitch. Got and completed Stage 2 today (Monday). Now, going into hibernation waiting for CA DMV.
Apparently, CA DMV processes titles in batches. Getting on board towards the end of the current batch is akin to winning a lottery. With my luck, I think I was always a founding member of the new batch on my previous transfers that took about a month each.
âIn batchesâ

If only CA DMV were as well oiled as Gavinâs hairâŚ
