Best day ever (not really)

Quick update guys, it’s officially been 48 hours and still no report. Police station is unresponsive, I don’t have the guys insurance info and I don’t even know where my car is

Why don’t you have the other guy’s insurance?

Did the police gave you a “receipt” of your accident & when to receive the report?

They always say within 48 hours it’ll be uploaded to crash docs. And no I don’t have it because if I spoke with the guy I would’ve ended up doing or saying something I regret

What? Why did you let anyone take it away when it was already at your house?

Not sure. I have had some kind of receipt or piece of some kind of paper that identifies the incident & the information needed to access the police report.

Only cars from 10 years ago or more fold like that in crashes and 2020 tundras

Is there damage on the other side? I think you are right on the edge of being totaled.

Parked on the street in front of my house

It didn’t appear so, no

Looks like the wheel contacted the curb? How does the drivers door panel gap look when closed? Did that move?

This is a unibody car so it doesn’t have a “frame”

Did the car get towed by the police at the scene? It’ll probably be at your closest tow yard.

Kind of weird they didn’t give you a “receipt” at the scene with the other driver’s info. That’s the whole point of having the police show up at an accident, they’re basically the mediators at that specific moment.

I’m assuming you also didn’t get the responding police officers contact info? I know that in the moment of a situation like this we forget to get basic information, but this is all stuff they should’ve provided at the scene.

What an elaborate vehicle theft that would be. Have your buddy crash something inexpensive into the target vehicle. Then pose as an officer and also a tow-truck driver to steal the victim’s car.

All in the light of day ! What a heist !

Those 2018 Challengers are in Big Big demand. People will do just about anything to get one.

What insurance was that?

lmao not all that work for an r/t, the real money is in hellcats. Look at copart and see how many stripped charger and challenger hellcats you find. And when I mean stripped the only thing left is the shell. They even steal the trunk :flushed:.

That is too funny

Good ol gecko

In my experience you cannot isolate how a single variable affects their algorithms. For example someone I know had an at-fault claim where the gecko paid 100%, nothing happened at renewal (no premium increase); then roughly a year later another claim where the other insurer paid out 100% yet the gecko dropped them at the next renewal

Who took your car? If you had called your insurance company, they may have towed the car for you but you didn’t do that. Can’t really fathom why the police would take it, they don’t need additional evidence and this is a pretty minor crime. Short-term I would make sure your car isn’t accruing storage fees at the police lock up - although they might waive those as a professional courtesy.

Stop giving OP so much grief! Not like he could call up his cop buddies and ask them ‘What Up?’

Okay, okay… I hate to revive an old thread BUT this thread was about someone absolutely destroying my parked challenger while I was inside my house going to town on a burrito. Last night, my late and great Tundra met the same fate… while I was eating taco bell. Can a man enjoy Mexican style food in peace anymore?
