If it were South Dakota instead of San Diego I could only imagine the range during the winters would be horrendous! My wife’s EQS is significantly impacted here in Albuquerque and it’s no where close to what Dakota experiences.
Oddly enough the air being thinner in a good chunk of NM should yield better efficiency but the inclement weather does negate that somewhat (winds and occasional winter weather)
I’ve generally had positive experiences driving BEV’s in NM.
Oh man the winds have been wild here! The jellybean EQS does fine but the brick design of the G would prob be affected big time!! Our last 4xe would be tossed around in high winds.
The electric G-Class is performing badly in the showroom, ICE versions outselling it seven to one.
Mercedes is now considering rejigging its upcoming electric baby G-Class to use ICE power.
Quick update here. As I mentioned, dealer told me he could potentially get me a killer deal when I came back this past week. There was no killer deal. Basically at most was around 15-16k off, and that was including taking care of my remaining 8 payments(no pull forward allowed on these). It was a joke. But, he was honest, later this year maybe around September especially if these things keep sitting around, and especially if Mercedes corp gets involved he could see these start to get huge incentives. The floor plan is just a killer for dealers. So we will reconvene until then. It’s hard to predict because as he said, this is the first time ever that they’ve had issues selling G-wagons. It’s never been an issue where they have a glut of them.
There may be more demand for this Mansory G63 convertible than a stock G580. @Bumboola may be interested since he was thinking about a JK.
What a wonderful collab.
they added another set of tailights to the bumper?
So simply and efficiently said. Literally looks like a tin can. Although looks are subjective but I remember up until 10 years ago they were still using suspension geometey feom the 80s G wagons. Not sure what it is now and I cant afford one but even if I could the negative connotations and bias that comes with driving this is enough of a negative for them.
Damn this kid could have a $179 monthly EQB or a monthly payment higher than what y’all want to pay on a G580.
does the EQB have amg line
$1k for an eqb with 2-4k down to get out of 13k of NE. We are doomed. We need schools to teach better personal finances.
They better hurry up, because the EV rebate will no longer exist starting September thanks to the beautiful Bill
As i understand it, and any mb dealer folks can confirm, but the ev lease credit that Mercedes applies to a lot of its vehicles aren’t really tax credits they receive from the government. They’re discounts provided from Mercedes directly. A lot of their cars don’t qualify for the tax credit. But they do it to try and remain competitive. But if it goes away in September question becomes do they get rid of it in unison or keep it on for a bit. Supposedly Mercedes NA still pondering what to do.
This is definitely a real customer.
Eventually everything will be AI generated and you’ll find your consciousness is lost to a nightmare world dominated by the machines.
Still a better outcome than driving an EQB for 9 hours.
For an MSRP $175K G580e dealer offering a 36mo/10K lease for $5k down and $2200 a month before taxes. Is this a good deal?
Sounds like a great deal for the dealer and probably MB corporate too. You will effectively be paying about $10/month for each mile of electric range. So from a purely EV range per your lease dollars perspective, this is the worst you could do.
Just for comparison, Escalade IQ also leases poorly so should have similar lease terms for the top trims with about $150k MSRP, but you will be getting double the EV range, making it infinitely more usable than the electric G-wagen.
That being said, if this is the vehicle that your heart is set on and you are comfortable with the payments, this is probably par for the course at the moment for this vehicle. Chances are, there will be much better lease terms on them toward the end of the year if you can wait…
Great feedback. Thanks!!!
$7500 EV credit comes from government on leases as far as I know, meaning Mercedes gets that rebate and can pass it on to you or not (like Tesla)
