Any good Corvette Lease Deals out there?

Congratulations! That actually sounds like an awesome deal for a fully loaded corvette. You are going to absolutely love it! Just take it easy on that throttle at the beginning! This is not a car, it’s a BEAST!!! enjoy…

Congrats! That is awesome. Finally we see some good movement toward Corvette leasing. Considering that High MSRP you did a great job.
I have few questions .

What was the best offer you got for this option?

Would you please share the dealers name who had stingray 1lt base models and were willing to negotiate and get close to that $470 deal?

Also what kind of rebates did you qualify for? Do you think GM loyalty or employee price are mandatory to get close to $470?

Thanks Nick! Yeah, still taking it light, especially with the GS/Z51 500-mile oil change requirement. And I definitely need to sign up for the Corvette owners’ track school at Spring Mountain… :slightly_smiling_face:

Still need to post in the Trophy Garage, but here’s a quick dealer pic:

Thanks Sam!

I didn’t come across many base automatics, so most of the 1LTs I considered were around $62-63k MSRP. The best I got was an initial quote from Simpson Chevrolet in Orange County – for a $62k MSRP, it was $644/month with $0 down (1st payment and TTL as drive-offs, though). Before I could negotiate further, it was sold though…

The next best I got was $635/month with the same drive-off terms for a $60k MSRP unit from Les Stanford Chevrolet in Detroit (one of the big CorvetteForum dealers and they regularly post GM employee deals that get picked up in LeaseHackr as well).

Everything else I saw was in the $62-65k MSRP range and they were more into the high $600s and low $700s, and dealers were not willing to negotiate much over email or phone. Many of them got sold, so I suspect there was enough demand still for leftover Stingrays. I saw less demand for Grand Sports and Z06s so that’s why I figured I would go for a higher payment/MSRP – I still get calls from dealers for Grand Sports so it may be that dealers are having a bit more trouble moving these higher-priced units.

It wasn’t any dealer in particular, I just noticed across the board that many ran out of '18 automatics but still had a few '18 manuals left. This was a few weeks ago though, so your best bet is to check your local dealer websites and see who has what left still. Don’t use the Chevrolet website for checking inventory though, it seems to be horribly outdated – I would check with dealers on in-stock units from there, and it turns out they were sold weeks ago. The local dealer websites are better for current inventory…

I had GM Supplier discount but I got mixed results with it. The GM Supplier price was obviously higher than anything I negotiated, but some dealers were willing to use it to knock another $1-2k off, while other dealers said they couldn’t use it for further incentives. The dealers that did use it did not have great deals though, so I think they probably were just cutting into their margin and saying it was a Supplier incentive, since I’m not sure whether dealers get any additional incentives or not. I did not use it on my current deal.

I did not have loyalty or Employee pricing – although I believe the actual GM Employee pricing (not the promotion they run occasionally) is supposed to be quite good, which is why you see these great deals with that discount (particularly from Detroit-area dealers).

I definitely think that the Employee pricing requirement is needed to get into the low $500s for now (note that it does mention TTL and first payment down as well, as well as residency requirements). I did not see anything that good in CA or even from the CorvetteForum dealers although I did not look at models in the $57k-60k range. But my guess is that the Employee pricing incentives get further discounts off their best price to get into that lower payment territory.

That said, I suspect dealers will start to cut pricing more on the '18s that aren’t moving since they really need to get rid of them soon with the '19s coming in. Normally it would make sense to wait until the end of year but with no more '18s being produced, you might get better deals now on leftover '18s. Seems like a different situation now versus last year, when dealers were trying to get rid of leftover '17s before the end of the year and the start of winter. The other option is to see when the next-gen model is due (maybe next year with the '20 cycle) and see if you can get deals on leftover '19s but that may take a while.

Your best bet is to check dealer websites for units that have the highest published discounts (and use that to negotiate further) – or another option is to use CarGurus to find new units at your local dealers and target the ones that have been sitting for a while (CarGurus should show the number of days it’s been listed on the site). I think 15-20% off could be doable if you find the right model that a dealer wants to get rid of.

That’s what happened with mine – it was the last '18 in stock and they got the GM to take another $2.5k off which sealed the deal for me. Probably helped that it was end of month and the salesperson apparently got double credits for moving the last '18. I think I may have been able to get another $1k off if I waited a few more days, but I had missed out a few Stingrays that were sold while I waited, so I didn’t want to take that risk again…

Thank you very much for all the useful information. This will be a great baseline for my research.

I just looked at CarGurus, absolutely loved that! so many awesome features. Thanks for introducing that.

Corvette dealers on the forum sometimes post crazy deals. It might not be great lease anyway, but buying it out isn’t horrible either

Great deal:

Enjoy the ride!

I do have some questions for you if you don’t mind.

  1. If you live in California and lease a Corvette from a Michigan dealer who pays shipping? Is it you or GM or the dealer? If it’s you about how much is it. Does the car go to your house or to a local GM dealer?
  2. Do you have to do anything special to get the car registered in California? How does that work? Do you pay sales taxes in Michigan and then more sales tax (use tax) again in California? How does it work?

Thanks Masterblaster!

They don’t pay for shipping, you either take delivery in-person (and have a fun drive back to CA  ) or you pay for them to ship it to you. I can’t remember exactly how much shipping was, as I was always planning to drive it out, but I think it was $1000-1500 for a covered transporter. So it does affect your payments noticeably if you factor that in…

The other option is to do a “Courtesy Delivery” where the out-of-state dealer sends the car to your local dealer and you pick it up there, and that local dealer takes care of registration, etc. too. Not sure how much that is, it may be cheaper than direct shipping to your house…

Admittedly, I didn’t discuss final details with the out-of-state dealers but my guess is that some of these large CorvetteForum dealers like Les Stanford might be able to register cars in multiple states like California because they’ve gone through the approval process with the DMV, etc. to register them. On CorvetteForum, there are multiple posts of CA owners buying from Les Stanford, and my Corvette specialist also seemed to understand the process, so it seems like they know how to do it. If not, you’d have to do it yourself with the paperwork they give you, or if you do “Courtesy Delivery,” your local dealer does it for you.

The other issue is CA emissions since it is different than the other 49 states, but I believe Kerbeck and Les Stanford order all their Corvettes with the 50-state emissions option as well since they do a lot of out-of-state sales. Funnily enough, a local CA dealer tried to dissuade me from going out-of-state for emissions reasons, but every CorvetteForum dealer I talked to had CA emissions on their stickers. I think the CA dealer just didn’t want to match the lease deal I had from Les Stanford…

In terms of taxes, since they are registering you in your home state, I assume the taxes get calculated automatically with GM Financial and you don’t pay anything to Michigan. Most likely Michigan and California have reciprocity for sales taxes as well, so that probably helps. My Corvette specialist at Les Stanford asked me for my ZIP code and quoted me the correct tax to be added to the payment, so I’m guessing they sort this out as well as part of registration.

More info here:

Overall, I think it’s a viable option but you’d have to get a pretty significant discount to make it work. I find that CorvetteForum uses them often because they have a lot of stock and have more allocation places for specials like the ZR1, etc. Also helps that they do 12-13% off MSRP right off the bat, so it’s an easy process to buy from them.

I just spoke to a local dealer in NJ that is offering a 2018 65k 2LT Stingray for 640 a month with 3000 out of pocket including all taxes (NJ) and fees. This is for 10k Miles a year for 39 months. I am still waiting for the full breakdown but so far this is the best I’ve gotten so far.

Yes please share with us the full breakdown.

Personally I gave up on lease for now and waiting for the end of year numbers.
As someone else also mentioned, right now is the worst time of the year for corvette negotiation.

Reviving my thread, all of us in socal should go together at the end of the year and get a massive discount if we tell them we all lease/buy the vettes on the spot, could they resist serveral people at the same time trying to buy basically the same car?

.
It’s been discussed time and time again. There’s no such thing as a group buy from the public. In addition, everyone may or may not qualify for the same rebates.

I have 2019 Corvette models to lease. excludes Z06 unless you want to lease with Ally financial

What numbers do you have?

I see i wasn’t aware of this

message me your email after you check out my inventory.

So What would a 2019 StingRay Corvette Coupe 1LT (MSRP $57680) lease for with $0 down.

fees at drive off would be what ?

I’m trying not to clutter this post. Please message me with your email and zip code. I also try not to give blind lease numbers. please pick one of the Vettes in my inventory. California leases only.

That MSRP was the low priced 2019 Vette (1LT) on your website. (VIN 1G1YA2D70K5101735, Stock Number 00050276)

Please clutter away on this thread with your quote to let us know if you are competitive.

MSRP: $57,066
Drive off fees $1,320 (includes 1st pay ment0
$632 mo + tax
36 mo 10k miles per year
MF: .00112
Residual: 58% = $33454.40 (buy out)

$0 Drive offs
