2025 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, 24/10k $175/mo $175 DAS

Just so you’re aware, dealers are trained not to do what you asked. Not many people have worked in sales but they invest in training their sales teams to work with customers to understand and help them get what they want. When the customer sees value they’ll spend more.

What we’re trying to do by insisting on their bottom line out of the gate blows their investment out of the water.

On the other hand, that was a completely inappropriate response regarding your hearing. Companies have invested tons of money in response to the ADA and I’m pretty certain their is a group at Stellantis as well as the dealership owners whose heads would explode if they learned of this.

They should have offered you accommodations or gotten help if they didn’t know what to do.

Not long ago businesses in my area were losing lawsuits for not being wheelchair accessible for a lot of money. The law and courts take this kind of thing very seriously.

It sucks that you were treated like that.

I don’t think that something like this gets addressed enough. To be honest, I don’t think I stopped for a moment to even think about it until I read this post. I can only imagine the challenges that someone who might be hearing and/or mobility impaired must have to go through in order to get what they need/want from a dealer. Seems like a gaping hole in the market that could be an opportunity for brokers and personal shoppers at the very least. In certain markets where you may find more people who are hearing impaired (I went to school near the National Technical Institute for the Deaf), I could imagine it being quite helpful to have a salesperson on staff who can sign. In your example, I suppose one could argue that the salesperson making those demands on you was violating the ADA but it’s probably not even worth dealing with.

This is 100% how I’m looking at it too. The car is OK, incredibly overpriced but fun in the SP version - but getting a $80k car for under $200/mo is the feeling I’m chasing, less than the car.

I also considered this as a Corvette substitute, in only of the sense that $200/mo is a lot less than $80k cash for the Vette, although the Vette is an incredible car and hands down better in every way that matters to me. It’s not a true substitute obviously but I was thinking it’d satisfy me for 2 years and then I could buy the Corvette, saving a lot of money in the meantime.

Again back to the topic of hacks, someone asked if there was a way to determine how long a vehicle has been in dealer inventory.

This sort of works if the car is also listed on cars.com.

They have a useful feature that shows you the price history and when it was listed. I don’t know the data source, if it means dealership listed or just to cars.com but in the attached picture you can see that one has been out there for about 148 days.

It is, thanks!

If you come up with something else interesting that’s worth considering let me know.

Weirdly something I’ve dealt with since I was a kid. I was bullied for using hear aids and I thought in 3rd grade, one day, this would all change. As I’ve grown older, I can safely say, it’s about the same as it was back then. That being said, I’ve grown to live with it and have a lot of tools that I think most people won’t notice (I’m basically perfect at reading lips). Now that I have Parkinson’s, I think I often forget until someone asks me to like call them and I’m like, “Huh?”

I’m hopeful for the changes to come the second (I think that’s when they are). That being said, I thought it would change last month. This has been on-going for quite a bit. The wife did get cold feet over it being a coupe but if the incentives can be an improvement, I don’t think it would matter if it had one door. Here’s hoping.

How long before a used Charger can be had for cheap? I would buy one for $10k (only if it was still under manufacturer’s warranty).

Govplanet site has/had charger cruisers go for under $10k.

Not looking for a former cruiser.:joy:

At $5k a piece ya can buy 2.

120k miles is quite a bit. Not even sure how cheap they are to insure. :joy::grin:

Managed to grab a 2024 white Scat Pack for $190 a month with $2000 down plus Ohio taxes. If anyone wants to know where send me a DM. It looks like they still have a black scat pack with black wheels.
