2025 Cadillac LYRIQ Luxury 1 AWD Loaner | 24/10k | $7,889 One Pay | $329 Effective

Cost is above my original target, but that assumed additional travel or shipping costs required to shop in a more competitive market.

I put this together ~20 minutes from home which eliminated logistics costs, and also made it trivial to withdraw from the deal based on seeing the vehicle’s actual condition in person (it’s immaculate btw).

This is ~11% off $66,519 MSRP (build has unnecessary options), 8% tax, Ohio registration, RV adjusted for miles.

Incentives (February programs) $5,750:

• $2,000 Conquest
• $1,250 Costco Executive
• $1,000 Cadillac Retired Service Loaner
• $1,000 GM EV Supplier
• $ 500 GM Rewards Card

Part of the total lease cost was paid by redeeming our $102 GM Rewards balance.

This may also get us a disposition fee waiver on our current GMF lease ($395), and the car is optioned with 3 years of SiriusXM, so I will cancel my $5.89 monthly subscription for the duration of the lease, saving $141.

Shopping Notes…

Making the Offer:

The main challenge was that most of the listings showed odometer readings from before the vehicle went into loaner service.

In reality I found others advertised with as many as ~5,000 miles (which is an RV adjustment of ~$1000).

Decide how you want to address this in your offer. I didn’t address it at all, which was a risk. Be ready to talk about it if it comes up.

Note that some of the incentives are dealer’s discretion using flexible dealer cash from Cadillac.

From context in our discussions I know they added in 2 Flex Cash coupons to get to the final number (mentioned adding in $1k in “Cadillac money” the day after I walked away). When I tried to get them to add at least part of the other two, I was very politely invited to go shit in my hat.

Finding the Right Vehicle:

If you search new car listings on CarGurus you can sort search results by days in inventory (“Oldest Listings First”).

Among the oldest within 200 miles was the one I ended up with. This was not a mega-volume dealer, and while I didn’t get a unicorn by LH standards, it was clear that this level of discounting is an aberration in their normal course of business.

It’s easy to find loaners on Cadillac.com. From the inventory search tool, sort the results by distance (closest first). All new cars will be listed first by distance, and then all loaners at the end, also by distance.

Sorting Through the Choices:

Note that I had two requirements, AWD and not black.

Most of the loaners I found were either Luxury 1 or Sport 1. Combo of RV + MF was different for each but not materially so.

Since optional equipment is almost all unimportant to me, I was targeting the lowest MSRP vehicles.

AWD is a $3,500 option on either trim. I’d initially forgotten that RWD was even available, so I wasted some time upfront running calculators on RWDs. It’s easy to filter these out on Cadillac dot com, you just have to be smart enough to do it.

Not every color is available in all trims, and nearly every exterior color is an added cost option. Luxury 1 choices:

The lowest possible MSRP for a 2025 AWD will be Argent Silver Metallic (standard) with no optional Black roof: $58,595 + $3,500 + $1,395 = $63,490.

The color choices alone on ours added $1,825, plus there’s SiriusXM ($299) and a bunch of accessories we wouldn’t have selected ($905), so in our example there are potentially avoidable options totaling $3,029.

Congrats. I did not have much success trying to replicate a deal in the DMV area. Was quoted $15k/16k one-pay (6% taxes & fees included) for 24yr/10kmi on a 25’ loaner w/ similar spec

Thanks. Your market is much more competitive than mine, so don’t give up.

Don’t ask for quotes, though, make clear, detailed offers. I’d be surprised if it took a ton of work to find someone locally to accept 11% off when they know you’re ready to drive over immediately and sign.

While this took a bit of back and forth over a couple of days, it was the first dealer I contacted out of a total of three in a single day.

Remember, pre-incentive discount is the measure of success since the other critical inputs are essentially beyond your (and the dealer’s) control. For example, I think your govt fees will be much higher (mine were under $300) and less consequentially doc fees in OH are capped at $398 (you’ll probably see 2x that or more).

Good luck!

Just want to echo all of the sentiments shared here by @trism. I did all of these things, contacted about five or six dealers within 300 miles over a couple of days, and one hit. I posted my deal in the SIGNED! section. Some dealers did not respond at all. Some dealers responded with an offer that wasn’t bad, but was not the deal for which I was aiming. Know exactly what you want, exactly what you are willing to pay (using the leasehackr calculator), and be ready to move when you find a “yes”.

Conversely, if you don’t know EXACLTY what you want or what you are willing to pay…don’t make offers. I know that can be hard to hear when it seems like there are lots of instances on this website of people getting great deals on great cars. I get it. What I think any of the seasoned hackers on here would tell you is your primary appeal to dealers is certainty–This car (stock number). These terms (miles, months, incentives, discount). Today. Yes or No. Once you start saying things like “I am thinking of doing this” or “I want this car, but I do not have the money until next month”, you have forfeited your primary appeal to the dealer.

How does one repeatedly get this incentive? Isn’t it supposed to be for the first GM lease? Can I close my previous GM card and open a new one with the new lease?

You cannot already have the card. You may be able to add a co-lessee to the deal who is a new applicant. I have done a number of GM leases for myself, friends and family and all added this rebate- it’s an easy 500.

Yes. I have also already obtained this twice. Just wondering if it is possible without asking someone to co-sign.

I don’t know. I missed this incentive when we got our Blazer EV, and the LYRIQ is only our second GM lease.

This card is in my spouse’s name. We’ll cancel the card in a year. If there is a next one, it’ll go in my name. By the time a third one rolls around we’ll start over.

I believe the rules say you have to be a new applicant and a new card holder. In other words you cannot already be an account holder. That’s my understanding anyway. There may be a loophole where you can close your account and then apply again as a new applicant. I just don’t know if there is a certain timeframe that the account has to be closed for before you can reapply.

How do you like it compared to the Blazer?

The LYRIQ is a much better car in almost every way.

It’s also less expensive to lease than the Blazer right now, and it was such a strong value with February’s programs we jumped into it a few months early.

The Cadillac is much smoother, quieter and handles better. The interior isn’t amazing but the materials are a step up.

IMO the LYRIQ is a better value at $329 effective than the Blazer was at ~$220, and there really isn’t anything at all out there in the $300s we would have considered.

Main downside on the LYRIQ is the small center screen (compared to the Blazer 2LT) and the fact that it’s quite possibly the least energetic vehicle with 515 hp ever made.

Are there selectable drive modes?

Yes, but they only go so far.

I suspect this isn’t the same on the V, but in the pedestrian trims I’ve read that the power curve is electronically managed (especially under ~30 mph) to appeal to “Cadillac people.”

From a stop light even with the most aggressive settings it doesn’t feel much more powerful than our Blazer EV (288 hp).

We did a 250-mile roadtrip on Sunday, and at no point did I find the spot where I’d describe the power as “fun” or “exhilarating.” Ample? Sure. But the specs came with higher hopes.

Is the Costco discount still active?

Unfortunately, Costco expired 3/2.

Also, at least in my region, this is also gone as of March programs:

This was added since:

Cadillac EV Private Offer - $500 on Most 2025 and 2026 EVs - Expires 6/1/26 - Signed Deals & Tips - Leasehackr Forum

I concur. I have one for my dad. Great car for him, power delivery is strong, yet smooth. When I drive him around and I floor it, never does he think I’m driving too fast. Whereas the etron GT, everyone can feel the instant acceleration.

overall I think the LYRIQ is a smooth car and good power.
