2023 BMW M5 - 15% under MSRP?

,

Lol but the HC doesn’t look box-shaped.

Ha, I suppose… at least not in comparison with an M5. I do like the M5’s FWIW… I wish they still had the V10 though. The sound was to die for.

Especially if the Camry if black and has these plates, RUN:

It’s not about money or budget with most. I have many high net worth clients who are the thriftiest/just grind for the sport of it.

I no longer entertain *most *folks who want to push for an extra $5-10 off per month because ultimately, that doesnt matter on a $500, $600 or greater payment. Now for a dealer doing 100 deals/month, that extra $5-10/month adds up. That extra push should be reserved for people who are scraping by to afford a car.

Big red flag when $15 is making a literal difference for someone on a 800/mo+ car…

When the wife says $800 she means it
$15 saves a divorce
Shout out to all y’all who put up with this shit

Spend the $15 and get the divorce.

Thats the thing - it is a difference only to their mentality (maybe ego), not their wallet.

It is ingrained in their minds that salesmen are out to deceive them.

I absolutely believe this. That could also very well be part of the reason why they have money - the unwillingness to waste. As you’ve said, it becomes solely part of their mentality versus it having any tangible effect on their wallets.

Overall, the wealthiest people that I know personally are also some of the cheapest.

I feel this may put a person on the losing end… LOL $$$

damn straight

You don’t get rich by spending money.

In fairness many times they are…people should really take this to an elementary level and understand the more discount they get the less a dealer / salesperson make and remember these people are heavily trained to make as much money as possible even through deception and the more of a deal they give is less money in their pocket.

It’s why it is preached on here to make an offer and not get quotes or do the first pencil crap. Car sales is one of if not the most opaque purchasing experiences out there. Once you agree, you then get to F&I where it’s another process of someone potentially pulling one over on you.

What are you betting? Will you delete your account if I do?

Sure but having a positive experience for all parties and building long term relationships is also very important.

Base MF obviously. But I’m straight on a $1500 payment per month, and 15% won’t get me there either but I’d probably consider it… anything less just doesn’t make sense. Working on replicating that Audi S8 deal Nathan posted earlier at 15% off… I’d rather spend money on that than on the M5 if that’s the case, plus it comes with $7500 in the trunk.

I understand, and I agree with you. But the context here was based on Boston’s post. Sometimes the mentality is so ingrained, that it involuntarily comes out. I’ve seen a couple inquiries where a $5 - $10 discrepancy was referred to as a “hidden” fee…
