Good afternoon,
I received the quote below on a 2021 Kia Forte GT DCT Auto. Quote is at 0 down/ 271 mth. I might have a slightly better offer at $259/mth from elsewhere but confirming. Is this in the range of a good deal?

Not sure where you are, but we have seen Corolla for less than this. There are a few brokers and/or dealers that have offered corollas for less than $200 a month IIRC.
I live near Chicago. I am not interested in Toyotas right now - looking to see if this is a good deal or not.
This is on the 2021 Forte GT not GT-Line - different engines.
Get all the info from the dealer and edmunds (residual, MF, incentives). Check previous deals done on here to see what they’ve gotten too. Use the calculator to build the deal you think is best and shoot for that. (Read though leasing 101)
On the surface it doesn’t look like a great deal to be paying $10,000 to rent a $22,000 car for 3 years.
If you’re not married to the idea of this car, start looking through the other deals on here you can get way more car for $270 a month.
I recently drove the Forte GT. It’s a lot of car for $270. Infotainment and standard options are better than BMW 3 series IMO.
I think your deal is pretty good. I think the best I saw was $5K off MSRP. This includes factory rebates.
Thanks. I already got the edmunds info and it matches. There isn’t much on here for the Kia Forte GT - sporty sedans just aren’t that trendy now.
I have a Jetta Sport that is expiring next month at 250/mth - 0 down. To buy it, be around that for another 3 years + tax. About 10k total w/ 32 k miles.
Anyways, any suggestions for similar cars? I’ve been directed to the Corolla and Camrys but as the other poster stated, it is quite a bit of car and has a much better engine than some of these other cars that are a bit cheaper - be curious your thoughts on good deals out there?
Thanks. I’m not sure many people have been in one - it’s a very nice car. I was hoping to be closer to 0 down 250/mth as my last two deals have been with VW - Kia dealers near me have been difficult and not very responsive.
Going from a Jetta to a Toyota you’d probably die of boredom, avoid those. Maybe another Jetta or shop the Kia some more.
There is probably more off the Kia or look at a Jetta. Both great options.
How about the K5? Seems to have a high residual.
Any suggestions on how to drive the price down? Right now, pretty much getting nowhere - the take it or leave it offers.
Why Corolla when he is looking for a KIA? Have you ever driven a Forte GT? It’s a great car which you can’t compare with a Corolla.
Not much you can do besides hit up every dealer within a large radius. Sometimes the market conditions and incentives are such that you’ll be squeezing a square peg through a round hole. Typically that’s when you start looking at other models. Like someone else suggested there have been a couple good K5 deals posted lately.
I reviewed your deal and it looks like $601 DAS not $0. If you’re getting $0 DAS $271/month that’s a good deal. That would be a $1000 loser to the dealership even if they hit their Kia Target Bonus(KTB) it would still be a $500 loser.
Thanks. I would have to get into further detail but I read the $601 DAS as the first month’s payment + other fees that you can’t get around and not $601+ 1st mths payment + fees.
Are you just reaching out to dealers for quotes or sending them a deal and asking yes or no?
I would put a deal together (discount, incentives, RV, MF), send it to dealers, and ask yes or no.
$90 more a month for an awd Lexus
So it’s $601 das, not $0. The amount “down” is pretty irrelevant and easy to manipulate.
Correct, doing this and getting nowhere. Hard to get anywhere when dealers are giving one quote, I try to negotiate a bit and they won’t move an inch - usually a time to look elsewhere.
If the 601 includes first month and fees I consider that 0. To me, DAS is additional money outside of the normal monthly and the couple hundred dollars in fees you can’t do anything about.
