2017 Equinox 24 month lease thread for December, part III

Will this work on AWD models? Any recommendations for dealers in the SF Bay Area? I have Costco and would be eligible for a Conquest rebate as well.

AWD and front drive are same residuals and mf and same incentives.

The residual drops 2% to go from 12k/yr to 15k. On a $30K MSRP car, that’s $600 spread out over the term of the lease, plus interest. E.g. on a 24m term, that’s an extra $25/month plus interest.

Thanks for the info! Even though I decided against going for the Equinox, this is definitely a great learning experience!

For everyone asking about my dealer, she states she’s out of bonus tags and only has a few more LS’s in transit. I have replied to over a dozen PMs and the dealer says she no longer wants anymore leads at this time.

Wow, a dealer stating they don’t want anymore referrals! Lol

Apparently not at $130/mo for those who qualify; said some folks have been borderline abusive with a few demanding even lower payments but they’re not sure if they came from here/me. But the deal is off for now since she’s out of cars and tags.

For what it’s worth, I have tried the past five days in LA country to replicate (or get close) to the deals posted, without success. Two of the specific dealers that generated posted deals would not only not match these deals, but moved significantly from them (claiming they had taken a significant loss). The best offer I have received (on an LT) was 9% off MSRP before rebates/incentives. (And for the record – I have been polite with everyone I contacted. The closest to a snippy remark was made by a dealer who told me “good luck” trying to hit 12% off MSRP (while offering 6% off as his final).) This is my first time attempting a lease with a Chevy – I have had much better experiences with an Infiniti dealer who does high volume, very low margin, and has experience with MSDs, great lease deals, etc.

One other note. If I had been able to get something like the 15% off MSRP for an LT (without the bonus tag), as was available for a while I think from EchoSide’s dealer, I would have thought about doing the one-pay lease (in addition to the acquisition fee waiver). Given the short term of the lease, and the very small monthly payment, it seems like this might have made sense (and made a great deal even better). Has anyone else considered this?

I have never seen anyone provide details of how GM Financial would handle a total loss situation say 1 year into a 2 year single pay lease. Do they pro-rate your lease and return half of your single payment or are you up the creek? That would be the only reason not to do it.

Looks like this deal is all spent. Time to move to the traverse.

I do not know, and I would want to read the paperwork of course before I signed. But by this site’s calculator, choosing the one-pay could save about $800 for the two year lease. If payments are 130/month, for example, the second year’s payments would be $1560. Given the very low risk of theft/total, I might choose the definite $800 in savings despite the potential loss of the second year’s monthly payments.

I got offered like $300+ for the Equinox Limited and they would only do a 27 month lease. Since I didn’t really want the car anyway, I didn’t even see what they would go down to, but they definitely said under 200 was not possible.

The risk would be if you were in an accident totaling the car. You would be out the money as insurance would pay off the owner, GM financial

Are these incentives applicable to the base L model?

Additionally, will chevy do a 12 month lease?

People really overestimate the likelihood of a car being totaled in any given year. What is it, <1%? Even if we assume something outrageous like 5%, your “expected loss” is 5% of $1560 = $78. Why would you not save $800 in the above example for an expected loss of $78

Agree with the total loss <1% chance … until this happens to you

What are the chances of 2 total losses … 1% x 1% = 0.01%

First of all thank for sharing all this amazing info in an effort to help everyone out.

Unfortunately when the salespeople see a female in her 20’s walk in, the deals seem to get very unreasonable. I was wondering if anyone has been able to get something close to this in the New york -LI/Queens area at a local dealership. 2 colleagues and myself are looking to get a car with something close to this deal. Due to the snowy winters here, we want the AWD but are open to LS/LT with options. I am familiar with leasing and good with numbers, but I was quoted about $300 a month for LT AWD with $3k down (MSRP around $30k). I laughed at the offer and asked for the break down…MF, Resid was correct along w some of the rebates but not much of a discount besides that from MSRP. I asked for the selling price and they asked why do I care about the selling price “you are leasing the car–NOT BUYING IT” so I smiled and said maybe I need to help you guys understand how a lease deal actually works…LOL. I did not further press them for any more numbers or justification of the monthly payment calculations.

Any help with a dealership/contacts who are able to do something close to this deal would be really appreciated.

Thank you,

don’t feel bad, I’m a male in my mid 30’s and sounds like you got offered an even better deal than I did. Honestly, like others on here say, the dealers aren’t there to do you any favors. They play their games and try to get away with anything they can.

From what I’ve been reading on here, very few people seem to be having any success with this deal anymore. My expectations weren’t even that high and I still ended up getting majorly disappointed with the result.

I did enjoy the look on their faces when I started talking about Residuals and Money Factors. LoL. I really don’t know how low they would’ve gone since like I said before, I really disliked the car and didn’t care enough. Best of luck getting a deal!
