2017 Equinox 24 month lease thread for December, part III

This is true in a normal monthly payment lease, but may not be true in a single pay lease. Still looking for literature that the lender would prorate your lease and refund the unused portion.

When you total your car one year into a two year normal lease, you don’t have to pay the remaining 12 months, so why wouldn’t you get a refund for half of your single pay lease?

This could be the reason Equinox lease deals are harder to come by this month: the Equinox just had its best sales month EVER. I bet a lot of those were leases too!

It’s not just because you are a young female. Dealers in NYC/Queens/Brooklyn/LI are plain… bad, to say the least. My friends and relatives of all ages/sexes get screwed big time there every time they buy and, especially, lease. So I help them to get cars in DC area. Not every dealer is good here, but it’s much easier to find one.

You have a couple things working against you. First is your demographic (gender/age) and then second is your location: Queens (or any of the boros) dealers pretty much assume they have a captive audience. They assume they don’t have to compete with what’s market price nationally. I live in this area too, it can be a challenge (PM me if you want some specific ideas).

Third is the possibility of this deal being dead. If bonus tags are gone and inventory is greatly reduced (as bro99 alluded to), the dealers might not feel the need to discount the selling price much.

No need to have your “delicate” presence in person to the slimy dealers. Just go online and check their inventory. If it looks like this, then you have a good starting point

Then call the internet sales manager.

@vhooloo You know how it ends, don’t you? “This particular car is sold, but we have others at similar savings”

2 LS available, the LT also have similar discounts (but will obviously be higher by $50 a month). So edit, make sure they have a few LS in stock before calling

Some dealers show which ones have red tag, so get those fingers clicking

“Price includes…” lists all possible incentives (one is unlikely to qualify for all of them), plus footnotes that X rebates cannot be used with leases.

There is a reason why they always put stock # in their low sale price (or lease) ads.

Can someone help me figure out what I can get for this car which is listed on dealer’s website as:

2017 CHEVROLET EQUINOX AWD LT
Total MSRP Before All Offers $31,190
Bonus Tag Cash Allowance 1 - $2,000
Cash Allowance 2 - $1,000

I tried talking to them, but they won’t give me any numbers unless I go there :frowning:

I’ve had the same problem every time I try to get any numbers over the phone or e-mail. They will only talk numbers in person and will keep you there for a loooong time.

That’s why I was hoping to get all information upfront, so don’t have to spend trying to argue with them. And will easy to know if they are BSing

yea, when I went in for the Equinox, it was soooo much easier to talk to them when you could bring up residuals and incentives and MF… they definitely change their tone. That being said, it still didn’t work for me, but who knows, maybe you’ll have luck

Also, it was great that I went an hour before they closed, so they really didn’t have much opportunity to BS.

You need to keep looking for a dealership where the internet sales dept knows its stuff

another dealership is little far away, so want to get it working with closer one first.

Can someone give me a breakdown of numbers, I should expect for this car?

2017 CHEVROLET EQUINOX AWD LT
Total MSRP Before All Offers $31,190
Bonus Tag Cash Allowance 1 - $2,000
Cash Allowance 2 - $1,000

Hey everyone. I’m located in SoCal (LA) and trying to find this deal. Of note, I get the GM employee discount (not sure if I should mention this or not), and I qualify for the conquest rebate. How do I find the bonus tags, plus the 750 additional CCR? What dealerships are a no-go here? I’m willing to drive just about anywhere in the state to get the car. Thanks for your help.

You need to negotiate the sales price before the rebates etc etc. As a guideline, it seems tagged cars are at 20% off, so you should push for 6k off. With 6 k off and 66% residual, you should expect a payment of 200 + fees/taxes.

Check if you qualify for any additional rebate such as conquest etc

Looks like these are the rebates:
$1,700 CCR - everyone
$750 inc CCR - dealer could feign ignorance, but everyone qualifies for this one too
$1k bonus tag - everyone as long as you find a unit that is tagged — instead of $2000 that they have, i assume for sale only
$2k conquest/Chevy loyalty - everyone with a valid Chevy/non-GM lease
$500 farm bureau - everyone that has been a FB member for at least 30 days
$700 Costco gift card - everyone who was a Costco member as of 30 Sep

so it seems like:

MSRP $31,190
Rebates: $5450 ( 1700+750+1000+2000) + costco + farm bureau

  • Any possible discount from dealer??? Is this possible?

66% Residual for what terms?
what is MF?

Thanks.

That’s a good start. 7k off (inc rebates) and 66% for 24 months/10k miles. So 200 or under is possible.
