2017 Equinox 24 month lease thread for December, part III

Hi bmb congrats on your deal. Which dealership did you get the equinox from? I’m from Anaheim CA and looking for a similar deal.
Thanks,

$250 Auto Show Incremental Capitalized Cost Reduction Bonus Cash

Huh, so you were able to stack auto show cash with the $1k bonus tag? Interesting.

Great deals being reported! My L.A. county dealers is out of Tags (no idea when she’ll get more) and LS trims…She’ll still do a 15% off MSRP discount.

A friend of mine who accepted delivery on Monday went to another L.A. County dealer the day before to test drive the car…Asked repeatedly for a LS which she thinks she saw (no roof rails) but the dealer basically forced her to test drive the LT…She test drove, showed a screenshot of my lease sheet and said if she can match that price for an LS she’ll buy right now…Dealer her down, she waited 15mins and the manager came over and said there’s no way the lease sheet is real, must be photoshopped (lol)…To their credit, this probably isn’t a volume dealer and they’re probably keeping the incentives for themselves…She said she told them repeatedly she wanted $0 drive off and their first two offers weren’t…Their next $0 driveoff offer was $291/mo for the LT (no idea of the options) and stated no one’s even selling these for under $300/mo…She walked right out…Ha ha

So one of the dealer responded to my email telling that competitive lease conquest is only valid if existing lease is remaining for one year or less. Is that right? If not, then can anyone please point me to official rules for the eligibility of $2k conquest rebate?

Dealer is confused. The 365 stipulation is only for GM Employee pricing deals.

It appears so, feels like they really wanna get rid of these, they have tons on the lot… still debating on pulling the trigger I’ve been pretty close with 2 different dealers. Going back and forth on the White Sport Edition or to wait and see what spring brings (Lease up in April)

I know my pricing is higher because of the 15/k yr but I haven’t been able to find anything that comes close price/quality wise (in this price range). With these numbers/amount down I’m suppose to be driving a Sentra with no a/c and manual windows.

Seriously, for a ~$180/month, $0 down lease, most people should be driving a POS Sentra with no radio and manual locks like you said.

It makes you wonder how many people still get ripped off on car lease deals, even though so much pricing info is on the internet. Purchase info is fairly transparent, but lease details are still murky for most.

Us “hackrs” are likely still a tiny minority of car leasers. If too many people started becoming leasehackrs, car dealers would not be happy. haha

They shut down original TrueCar for that reason - there were all the numbers on dealers’ costs.

Quite a few dealers are still dubious of Truecar…hard to have the best interests of 2 opposing groups (car buyers, dealers) in mind at the same time. Truecar definitely favors the dealers (if you are paying Truecar prices, dealers are happy), though good info can be gleaned from it. I used Truecar pricing details to help me in negotiations with my Volt lease earlier this year. I didn’t actually use Truecar to sign the deal though…I negotiated separately. Dealer saves $300 by not paying Truecar a finder’s fee…which means customers also can save $300. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone have FL dealer contact?

Can someone in socal send me their dealer info? Thanks

Does anyone know EchoSide’s LA county dealer? I’ve tried messaging him, but I do not know if he has seen my message. I’m in LA county and would be interested in 15% off MSRP, even without a bonus tag. Thanks.

Can someone list out the incentives specific to California and Texas? Thank you.

The only reason I read this board if for the shenanigans

Yes, shenanigan stories are more than welcome. Especially if other people can be assisted in avoiding such shenanigans. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m really interested in getting on this deal for a Equinox LT (with the tech/convenience packages). Preferably for 15k miles/year but would consider 12K if I need to.

If anyone has a dealer in SoCal that would do the deal, please let me know! I’m in San Diego, but will be in OC this weekend.

Could someone please give me a breakdown for the LT (with extra packages) w/ 15k miles?

Thanks so much!!!

I’m going to go test drive one tonight and see I can get in on this deal. Please let me know if you have some numbers to help me out! Thanks!

To answer questions in the banner:

  1. Location - San Diego, CA or somewhere in Orange County
  2. Trim Level - LT (with convenience and technology packages)
  3. Desired Term - 24 months / 15K miles/yr preferred but willing to go with 12K

Also, I don’t currently own or lease a Chevy, so not sure how significant that will impact my deal. :frowning:

Won’t impact it at all if you have a non-GM lease.

Thanks for the response!

So I went to the dealership today to check out the equinox. I was all excited about the prospect of getting such an awesome deal. The choices there were basically an LT with very few options or a Premier. I test drove the premier, and I hate to say it, but I was very disappointed. The first thing I noticed was there was NO push to start! Seriously? In 2017 there’s no push to start on a full loaded model of your car? Major fail in my book. May not seem like much, but once you get used to push to start, its hard to go back. Second thing I noticed was the inside looked CHEAP. I know Fords really stepped in terms of quality over the years, not sure why Chevy has failed so badly. Test drove it and it was… meh… I thought for under 200 bucks it was decent enough, but nothing like the Rav4 or CRV. In the end, I went back in and was pretty straight forward about what I was looking for in price. Told them I heard people were getting the price down to around 26k without incentives and 67% residual. They were pretty quick to realize that there was no way they could do anywhere close to $200/month for the premier. They said they would call me when they get an LT in stock with the features I wanted. Truth is, I think even for $200/month its not really what I’m looking for. Will keep an eye out for another SUV.

Either way, I appreciate all the help!
