Anyone else have issues with their new XC90?
I lost sound in my audio system (infotainment display works but audio is gone). Also at the same time my turn signals stopped making the “click” sound. Started three days ago and so far hasn’t come back. Mine only has 2,300 mi on it.
Common issue amongst newer Volvos, though I find it doesn’t happen nearly as often in the XC90 as my previous XC-60.
As annoying as it is, easy fix. Hold down the skinny, physical vertical button right below the screen. Hold it for like 15 seconds. It will first say something about screen cleaning mode, and then you keep holding it down until screen turns black. It reboots and sound should come back on.
You can do this while driving, if need be.

If this doesn’t work, I’m a 90-day-old ABA member ready to take legal action if needed.
This and TCAM reset are most common fixes for software issues, and a lot of what the car does now is routed through the infotainment system.
Hopefully you don’t go down that road but if you do be prepared for a timeline closer to 2X your ABA membership 
Wait until the camera stops working while backing up or the squeaky seat or the loose electric motor in the back or……
One of the things that bothers me the most is that the 360 camera does not come on automatically when shifting into reverse. Not even able to change in settings. And of course the “360” button on the screen is tiny and usually takes me 2 or 3 clicks to finally select it.
And then sound goes again. Take it for service, it’s software issue. I had it on 24 XC40. Also, the phone would not connect automatically.
While the other half of the screen is black with nothing on it…
There are screenshots of the backup cam in full screen on Swedespeed and if you think like me, you are thankful it only shows half. The resolution on that camera is not good.
I’d prefer if half the screen is rear view and other half is 360 like my bmw. Either way both cameras aren’t great. Better than wasted space on a screen.
This happens in my XC40 a lot. 3 or 4 times so far.
What really gets me is the horizon in the backup camera is so low that when I back up on my slightly sloped driveway all I see is the ground.
This happens on the XC40 too. The EX90 fixes it…but that’s a different car
The most annoying issue was family member’s XC-60 went into turtle mode. Something about the backup battery needing depleted/recharged.
This has been going on for years. Boggles my mind this hasn’t been addressed via OTA updates.
This particular audio/phone issue is new for me. Never had it before.
Lemme tell you about my lemon XC60…hah.
I’ve sued Volvo multiple times. I will still get another Volvo if it’s cheaper than 2 metric tons of dirt.
I still have my S60 (and my parents’ V60CC), but that’s a Sensus car, so it’s like a completely different manufacturer at this point.
