Odyssey is awfully outdated. They need a new gen out for the last 3-4 years.
Agree but worth to spend 15-20 k more ? And some has savings .
If any of ya’ll Sienna-Stans contact that dealer about that one I linked above, let me know if it was indeed a loaner or if it’s new. It’ll help me to know if I need to revise my searches.

Dont worry, once the next crisis hits theyll go for wayy over asking again. Bc remember kids, hybrid minivans solve all world problems
There are more full-size SUVs than minivans at Marriott Vacation Club and theme parks in Florida. I used to see so many Grand Caravans and Town & Country since they were cheap, and a few Odyssey and Sienna, but now it’s just Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Armada & Wagoneer.
I choose to believe those people have simply chose incorrectly. I guess advertising works.
Bring back the ASTRO van now there is some bang for your buck
Mini vans aren’t cool in the soccer mom crowd. They are def more functional and an all around better value, but it just shows the influence of propaganda aka advertising. They managed to get millions to switch from better fuel efficiency and all around cheaper cost of ownership, to gas guzzling giant SUVs.
Lol the day care I use has about 100 households covered. Zero minivans.
Gas guzzlers >>> Luxury EVs > Tesla > Walking > Minivan
Hopefully they like them bc unless they want to lose a lot they’re prob stuck with their cars for awhile. High income/net worth people always could handle depreciation but the strapped middle class can’t, many who entered the high prices over Covid. They had more disposable income then bc inflation wasn’t high yet.
I think the high profits of the last 3 years are going to present some great deals for educated buyers in the coming years. Manufacturers have to move metal and many consumers will hold on to their upside down cars, like they are homes, since many have low rates. This will lead to price wars between brands, which is always good for leasing, especially if rates are dropping too.
Finally, an affordable minivan option we’ve all been waiting for
Maybe it just means that Sienna is one of the few models where its MSRP is reflective of its market value?
Yep mmr on lightly used ones is very close to msrp so that’s the tell right there.
The 25s are going up approx $2k this year. Most platinums I have in allocation are 61-62. They were 57/58 for 24
But paying $40,000 for a Chevy Blazer EV with a MSRP of $58,000 just feels better!!
Dayum the balls on the Stellantis manager who put a 41k sticker on a barebones Voyager wouldn’t even fit inside said Voyager.
Do the math. The caravan in 96 was like 18-20k for a base. Adjust for inflation etc 40k is actually cheap. I was thinking 40 is high too last night then asked my mom what they paid for our classy town and country in 96
Based on average income the base model vans were much more back then
The data I posted from Experian showed the LTV of new car sales continues to be over 110%. Plus every other thread on LH seems to be “look at how much neggy eggy I can rolllll”.
I think new car sales will just persist in a new normal where 90% of new car transactors are endlessly renting their cars whether they use a loan or a lease. It’s about what car you’re allowed to be seen in to satisfy the Joneses. Its not about what new car you can afford.
The boon is for frugal people who purchase CPO and run them for 12+ years.
It’s not. Most/many cars now cost less than their inflation adjusted price from decades ago.
In 1985 a Mercedes 500SEL cost $150k+ adjusted for inflation, with hardly any discount or rebates. Today an S500 is a $120k car before any discount or rebates. A 1995 Camry XLE cost between 44-50k in todays money.
So do that with household income too. People are still spending approx the same proportion. And my point was cars are cheaper now than before anyway…same as your examples.
40k for a base van is pretty much the same as it’s always been.
