Which is best premium CPO SUV to buy

Interesting, thought the SW updates made it more stable/reliable.

Interesting. The Sensus one has been good for me, but I’ve also seen someone with AAOS not have any issues.

What happened with our :potato:?

The V60 potato wagon is alive and well. Had the tires and rotated on Monday, one was out balance. And the Infotainment gets a hard reset every couple days, sometimes multiple times a day.

But hey they released a new point release on AAOS over a month ago that I’m still waiting to be available on mine. I’m still running 2.13.2

If it could run Sensus I would have switched it out already.

Do you know RX350h’s deals around? I’m inclining towards that eventually.

Unable to find any decent lease deals in the fall I grabbed a CPO Mercedes GLC43 for $49k with 12k miles on it. The extra year of full warranty makes it essentially a new car to me. Original sticker was $67k

That’s if NOT married. If married filing jointly, the limit is 300k.

Post I was responding to was a suggestion to buy a used EV. Income limit for married filing jointly is $150k/single filers is $75k.

I see that now, I did not realize used was different than new!

For posterity for 2024:
New EVs

  • Single and married filing separately: $150,000.

  • Head of household: $225,000.

  • Married filing jointly: $300,000.

Used EVs

  • Single and married filing separately: $75,000.

  • Head of household: $112,500.

  • Married filing jointly: $150,000.

Anything under $70K+ is more or less base.

I mean its not fully loaded but base msrp was $62,500. It has driver assistance/premium package/performance exhaust. When I bought it it was the only CPO under 20k miles for less than $50k nationwide :man_shrugging:

It’s fine I guess, if you are fine with it.

Hey, what did you end up deciding on? I’m in the market for a similar vehicle, but I’m in Texas, and lease taxes make me want to move  so I’m considering CPO.

Just one option, but find a low mileage CPO XC90 that wasn’t placed into service until later than usual. The one we bought had 11k miles on it. We got a healthy discount on my wife’s CPO XC90, who drives like 5000-6000 miles per year. I then purchased the add-on CPO warranty, which extended the CPO warranty to 10 years or 100k miles for $2400. I know service contracts aren’t popular, but there is a well known site that hammers down the price of the service contacts and you can buy them after the fact. The dealer normally wants to charge $5000+ for this.

I believe SWEDESPEED still works for $200 off as well, which is a popular Volvo forum. Just one option. My wife doesn’t drive enough to warrant leasing a car, which is why we went this route. I’m confident, at a minimum, I will recoup the cost paid for the contract before 100k miles.

If one contacts Mike Bernardo at Steingold Volvo, he can sometimes send code to get $500 off. I did it on mine but my dealer ended up matching Steingold’s price so I just did it in one shot.

However, things changed August 1st, 2023 as the ā€œCPOā€ extension can now be only purchased through the dealer that sold the car. The VIP contract is effectively the same as ā€œCPOā€ extension on paper but real world experience might differ on what’s covered and not covered depending on one’s local dealer. Just something to keep in mind.

Don’t forget to check the discounted price of brand new

The discount on CPO isn’t always good enough considering new ones are being discounted too.

I wasn’t aware of the change. At a minimum, it can provide a strong baseline to get the dealer to match. Most of the time, I think they’d prefer to sell the contact. To maximize value, finding a low mileage and late to be put into service CPO vehicle is the sweet spot for Volvo anyway. They depreciate much faster than say a Lexus, so you can typically find a very strong deal.

But a cpo can get unlimited mileage warranties, a new car cannot.

My personal volvo will be put in service loaner/demo status for 3 months just so I can buy it as a CPO and throw the unlimited mile warranty on it.

Too bad they don’t have CPO Aston Martins with unlimited mile warranty.
