Which is best premium CPO SUV to buy

Does any other brand offer a 10 year unlimited comprehensive warranty?

The irony of someone driving a 70 k vehicle caring about some cheap ev range to save on gas. No PHEV Iā€™ve driven feels luxury (GC 4XE & CX90)

Never or rarely stopping for gas is its own luxury. And gas powertrains that arenā€™t very powerful sure could use some extra push from electric power.

Anyway I donā€™t see any point in paying 61k for a 350 instead of ~59 for a 450, but we can agree to disagree.

I actually do agree with you when comparing a loaded 350 to the 450 h. Just saying that the EV thing is funny on a 70 k car

Iā€™m aiming 50-55K, maybe up to 60K max out of the door. But at the same time looking to get maximum features like adaptive cruise, panorama roof, surround view cam, heated steering/seats etc.

Pretty much any of the cars suggested here would be in your price range, especially for CPO. The features you listed are fairly standard to get in this price range (surround view might be the only one not super common).

Are there any other features that you want/need? Like cooled/ventilated seats, massaging seats, high end sound system, air suspension, heads up display, etc. That might move the needle a bit towards some cars over others.

Also a consideration is how many miles you drive per year, how long you plan to keep the car, and if youā€™re okay with higher maintenance costs.

Primary I want the surround view, panorama roof, adaptive cruise and heated seats/steering.
HUD isnā€™t a must. I drive about 10-12K/year.
I was seeing CPO X5s (2021) in the range of 50K, or a 2020/21 GLE. But Lexus and others went into 65+ (new ones)

Lexus is your best option when it comes to reliability for the long term. Down here in south Florida I seen a few TX models the new TX350 starts at $55K

And suddenly this thread became resourceful rich. Bravo!

Id buy the lexus if I didnt get a warranty

I would buy a volvo if I bought the 10yr unlimited mile warranty (I drive 18-19k a year)

Why do u limit them into these 3 choices? I will put acura mdx, infiniti QX, Genesis g70-80, Benz GL, Jag F, Porsche Cayenne, etc.

To OP, Personally, if I buy used n will use them for awhile with that mileage/year. Iā€™ll stay away from european n stick with Japanese one.

Those were just the popular ones with the thread above

If buy the Jag, you have issues. The porsche is wayy more money I think.

I would love to own another genesis probably my favorite non performance vehicle

:apple: to :apple: the Porsche is considerably more money.

Havenā€™t research used Cayenne price recently, but itā€™s known as very bad in holding their value, thus I thought it will be in opā€™s range. Maintaining it otoh is a different issue, thus it wonā€™t be on my list.

You donā€™t drive an excessive amount, so most of the cars being discussed should be okay if you arenā€™t trying to get 200-300k miles out of it. Lexus is weird about still not having pano moonroofs on their SUVs still.

Assuming you donā€™t want to go into loaded mainstream brands (Toyota, Hyundai, Mazda etc).

CPO/used: X5, GLE, XC90, Q7, previous generation RX
New: MDX, QX60

XC90 and Q7 were last fully redesigned MY2016 and and both had some mid cycle refreshed in ~2020 versus X5/GLE being redesigned around 2019/2020. Previous gen RX can have all your primary want features, but definitely hard to find that loaded (Only one in my list of CPO with a naturally aspirated V6 vs turbos/supercharged 4/6 cylinder engines that is standard with the others).

Yes I saw the following ; mostly 6-cyl engines:

2021 X5s (20-25k miles)- ranging $48-52K
2020/21 X5 M50i V8 engine (25-30K miles)- ranging $59-63
2020/21 Cayenne base (25-30K miles)- ranging $58-62k)
2021 Lexus RX450h previous version (18-22K miles)-ranging $48-54K

I think 2021 GLE450 is somewhere around same range as X5s/Cayenne.

I didnā€™t see Volvo, Acura or Genesis yet.

A 2021 model year sold in the fall of 2020 has only 7-9 months of factory warranty left. Then one year of basic CPO. So from a maintenance perspective they are not great candidates.

Which would be palatable if their depreciation was slowing down. Plug in a 2017 VIN into carmax and Carvana etc to see what you might expect to receive from them in 4 years.

For the BMWs, most of them have warranty expiring mid/late 2024 and then CPO warranty until end of 2025. Similar for Porshe who have 3 year CPO so 2020/21 models have warranty till end of 2025/26.
While we all agree that all these luxury SUVs will have high maintenance high depreciation/low resales, does any one of them do better than the other? Seems like Lexus wins the race by far being a non-German car.

Porsche tends to do a bit better with depreciation, but when I was considering the Cayenne, the maintenance costs were significantly higher for dealer service compared to the other brands. This can vary from region to region and dealer to dealer. Would be a lot more reasonable with a good independent mechanic.
