I think a non-pro with an A15 would suffer less of this. The A16 in the Pro is a lot of extra transitors to stuff into that package at that process size (covid mistake). This is the first year the Pro and non-Pro have different cpus. The A15 in my mini doesn’t get hot and battery last unless I am using speaker, which uses a lot of power. I think they both have the same camera this year? 5G with and without UW works great - Qualcomm modems.
You’re responding to the wrong person. I never had it and wouldn’t anyway.
The 5g start is in my moms phone. She don’t use internet. I certainly would not do good that plan lol.
I know. I was responding to a comment you made to Harry
This is the iPhone I’m trying to sell so maybe I could join the iPhone upgrade program
I just need that EU battery bill to pass, and am back circa 2014. The thin and light bs will stop, plus they’ll probably bring back the fashion of carrying spare rechargeable batteries or introduce batteries that can be used for 5 years or so.
FYI, Costco is running their Free AppleCare+ with Unlocked iPhone 14 pros promo again.
At this point I’d just wait till the 15 is launched. A month or so out.
they’ve already tentatively announced the date for 9/15 and release for 9/22. its insane to buy a 14 now.
you guys were just talking about this.
Hrmph
AMEX Platinum has cell phone protection as long as you pay your bill on it so AppleCare isn’t worth it if you have that IMO
A lot of carriers no longer accept credit cards for bills, or apple pay. Idk how this would work.
Amex also doubles the warranty on purchase / paid in full. I think people forget that Apple’s iOS devices have a 1 year warranty but only 90 days of free tech support, so if you have a software question in months 4-12 you have to find those answers elsewhere. You’ve paid $(product + tax) by month 2 and have repair/replacement until month 24 but no phone support — which even I use twice a year for some bug caused by an update — for 21 months.
my purpose in switching the extended family to apple, and making them get applecare, is to obviate me fulfilling any tech support role. AppleCare can be used at any Apple store - 99% of my Genius replacements have happened while traveling. Who here has yet undelivered their first “yeah so I need to replace one lost AirPod” monologue inside a glass box at the mall?
The aforementioned installment plan is $(product + applecare + tax + 0% financing) / 24
You set your auto pay with a debit card but pay with your Amex plat before the auto pay date.
“a lot” as in T-Mobile? Verizon and AT&T accept credit cards for auto pay.
Not using a CC for your cell phone bill and giving up points/miles/cell phone protection (depending on the card) is a waste of money right along with Apple Care for any iPhone when you have free CC protection.
This is what my family of 4 does: my wife and I have Mint Mobile ($20/month for 15Gb) and the kids (who still don’t use much data when not at home) have Tracfone ($0/month, I use rewards points and merge lines to add data). I bought them “refurbished premium” iPhones 12 at $280 each on Amazon a while back. Wife and I have “refurb premium” (aka new battery) Samsung S21 devices ($250 each). Once the battery life deteriorates, I will sell them and get new refurbs on Amazon.
What do you think of this plan?
In order to get the autopay discount for T-mobile you have to put your debit card or bank info which I don’t trust. I just called them and request $25 credit and I still pay with my CC.
Brilliant!
Thank you so much for helping appreciate my stock portfolio…
