My age is almost twice of 17 and I never said I was a guy…:joy: I always drive in the right lane unless I’m going to make a left turn. I also never use my phone when I’m driving. When I was younger, I used to get angry occasionally when people tailgate me or try to drag race, I would accelerate to 60mph-70mph in a 45mph zone but as I get older I rarely do that anymore. I could drive faster but I know wouldn’t feel comfortable and sometimes I have my elderly parents in my car. I guess the best way is to ignore the tailgaters and people who try to drag race. It’s hard to ignore them but I’ll try…:joy:

I find it strange that all these people want to drag race you. You might be over reading the situation. And i still don’t see how someone accelerating quickly from the light impacts you.

I’m starting to think this thread is for giggles. If not, and you think everyone and their mother wants to race you; than I believe the lease deals on passenger vans are good. Get a GMC Savanna 1500 (or similar), and place “Vehicle Does Not Exceed Posted Speed Limit” , No, I Don’t Want To Race You”, and “Grandparents On Board” stickers. If the aforementioned doesn’t help, then please turn in your license.

I don’t understand how that would be a solution. Don’t drive something you don’t like, especially if much of the “threat” is in your perception.

As others have said, it’s highly unlikely any of these people actually wanted to race you. You were driving X mph, they were driving Y, that’s all there probably was to it.

@Mi1lion Why would I want to turn in my license…just because I follow traffic laws? I didn’t say I think everyone wants to drag race me, I just said it happens once in awhile.
@max_g You’re right…I think I might have overreacted sometimes. I should just get a car I want and not care what other people do.

The reason why tailgaters bother me is because I actually got rear-ended by a tailgater at the end of April. A lady was riding on my bumper on the right turn lane. As I stopped at the red light and waited for the incoming cars to go first, she failed to stop and hit me pretty hard. My whole bumper had to be replaced. I’m just glad that her insurance paid for it (the damage was $1.7k).

Depends on my mood and the car I’m with lol.

Majority of the time I’m driving on cruise control and I don’t give a … if they tailgating or not.
They should back off because if they rear end me its their fault either way so let them continue tailgating as much as they want. LOL

Don’t drive in the left lane. Drive in the middle lane.

On a 2 lane street…

That guy tailgating you? That’s @Mi1lion for sure. He is already tailgating your post and flashing at you. Better pull over lol …

Then why is someone tailgating you - they have another lane to pass you lol!

Where is the middle lane on a 2 lane road, again? So I know for the future

Get a Ram 1500 or Toyota Tacoma TRD off road. Ever since I got those, people stopped tailgating me. If they are, they are too low on the ground for me to even see them …

The same place where we told you to go and play in traffic when you were young …

Was never told to play on the roads, sorry

Yes the speed limit is intentionally set to 10 mph below what it is safe to drive at …

Happened to me too. In fact the impact was strong enough that it pushed my car into the car in front of me (everyone had come to a stop on the freeway).

Looking back it was kinda surreal. The secondary impact was relatively minor but when I walked up to the car in front, the driver was crying. The car behind had basically shat itself and was leaking coolant and fluids all over the place. Some Neanderthals were honking and shouting obscenities as they passed, due to the inconvenience of a closed lane as they waited for a tow for the disabled car.

Same thing happened to me except the impact in the back was strong enough to push me into oncoming traffic so I was hit from the front as well. Totaled the car. The vehicle that I had to stop suddenly for in order to avoid hitting was trying to make a left turn across a 4 lane road when they had zero visibility into traffic that continued to flow in the left hand lane (namely me) while traffic in the right was stopped. That car escaped unscathed because I was able to stop in time but unfortunately the tailgater in the Caprice couldn’t react in time and caused the chain reaction.
