I agree that most likely they will tell you to do X. But that is valuable information!
If you are not satisfied with their response, I think you should report them to Lexus and also submit a complaint to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. You can also threaten them by saying that these will be your next steps.
I think some folks are jumping the gun. First step is to find out if the wrong contract shows OPâs signature.
Genuine ques: does the contract on the portal not normally have signatures?
Definitely burn them on the survey!
Received call from Finance Manager few hours ago. Said that a few contracts(including the wrong one) was signed on the day of car delivery and hence they accidentally submitted wrong one to Lexus. They sent me new contract again today to re-sign. Iâll give them the benefit of the doubt and wonât tarnish their name publicly since they offered to fix the problem. Just a weird experience overall and giving you guys heads up on the dealership game
just avoid beverly hills dealerships at all costs
i went to a BMW dealer and the stupid rep played the âi never said thatâ waste of my time
im going to assume it was jim faulk
I had a decent experience w/ MB Beverly Hills (but that was like 12 yrs ago).
I thought you said you only signed one
did you get a smart car?
No, a C300.
A friend bought at least one Lexus (if not multiple) from Jim Falk and, AFAIK, never had an issue. But, again, this was many, many yrs ago.
No clue. Iâve never dealt with Lexus nor Toyota. I wouldnât be surprised if they are able to submit electronic contracts without sigs. Honor system.
They made me sign before letting me see contract. Thatâs why they got my signature on all the contracts. Itâs a digital signing system, not wet signature.
Why does this sound insane? They made you sign the ARB contract before you could see it?
No, itâs a little signature pad. Itâs separate from computer screen contract. You sign then they print the contract on paper afterwards
Oh, that sounds f*cked up. IIRC, when my partner bought his Mazda, you could see their computer monitor and (presumably) know what exactly what you were signing BEFORE using the pad (I think).
It goes without saying (but I am going to say it anyways), donât ever sign anything without at least reviewing the numbers before you sign. I have bought/ leased many cars and never once has the Finance guy not gone over the contract or lease statement with me before asking me to sign it.
IMO you should file a complaint with the California Attorney General office. Not for you - but just for the greater good of California.
The practice of requiring a signature to see an offer is⌠weird. Especially if a signature on that pad could somehow be âaccidentallyâ used to submit a formal vehicle contract that includes commitments to a lender. I mean this definitely violates CFBP rules for lenders if a borrowerâs lease could be âaccidentallyâ formed with the wrong information because someone fat fingers some signature somewhere.
I put âaccidentallyâ in quotes because in my experience the auto industry does not make âaccidentsâ. Think of the years that the auto industry has honed its craft. There are so many checks and balances in place to ensure no âaccidentsâ are made. Especially not an âaccidentâ of this magnitude.
PS, the Lexus Encore thing is only available in Australia. Again, your dealership is shady as hell and gave you a super lame excuse.
I think if I didnât have a copy of the actual contract(because everything is digital), it wouldâve made it hard for me to argue. Heck I left the dealership with 0 paper. The contract was put on a USB ffs
I have done digital signing many times, and always had the contract pages I was putting my signature on available when doing so. At least up on screen if not a hard copy.
