That’s my point though.if you’ve been in the business a long time and have a “loyal” base with referrals it can be great. On the other hand a newcomer is facing a very very uphill battle.

Also Im totally down with this being a rant/vent thread for everyone even the dealers haha. I’m all for equality :slight_smile:

I’m saying car sales in general is miserable, even with referrals and established business. Being a GM / GSM is the way to go.

I had someone off here go to my dealership, switch colors once they got there, and refuse to pay my broker fee because “We aren’t buying the car that you negotiated on”

Just one of many…

I collect half of my fee at commitment and second half after delivery

Dealership delivered a car 150 miles away (no cost associated) and was 30 minutes late due to torrential rain.

Customer refused to pay second half due to 30 min delay.

Best part-They had the audacity to tell me they can’t wait to work with me again and that hopefully I learned from this experience.

Yes it was a LH member. Yes-that’s a free delivery 150 miles away.

Trashy people are everywhere.

Specially CC charge back has enabled those individuals.

I would wish CC companies identified these kind of people and banned them but only one who looses in those transactions is a small business

Sounds like a “reasonable” offer from the dealer.

Did the dealer ad state it was a manual car with 550 miles on it? Just curious.

Some dealers do suck, but some folks (not you) think they can ask for any percentage off on a new car 'cos “Joe” got that deal at the end of the quarter.
