WatchHackr?! ⌚️

Is it just me or are half the Rolex names so stupid?

This is perhaps the most impressive thing I’ve seen on this website.

New revision.

Geometry getting close to where i want it. Big difference between the two is the grey strap has tapered wings where the strap attaches that follow the profile of the watch lugs. More integrated looking, but requires a 20mm strap.

Orange has flat wings that let it take a 22mm strap, but isnt as cohesive with the case. Feels more aftermarket.

Where do you buy your straps?

The ones I’m using for test fitting right now are just cheap ones. The orange one is from Barton. The grey one is from Alpine. Both are available on amazon.

If memory serves, I’ve got a couple from panatime. Thinking of ordering one from delugs for the oris once I decide if I’m going with the 22mm or 20mm adapters. I think this one would look good on it: Denim Babele Slim Strap – Delugs

Found it on AliExpress most likely if they came from Amazon they got it from AliExpress
[https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLeZ8Ck]

Very different materials there. The delugs strap is babele leather. The “denin” part of it is a combo of the texture of babele leather and the coloration. The aliexpress looks to actually be a layer of denim laminated on.

With watch straps, you can tell a big difference in how they feel and hold up compared with the cheap straps. The cheap ones tend to be a lot stiffer and less comfortable to wear.

If you’re looking for a new high end watch I would be stalking the Moda page all day. Some serious stuff has been selling for dirt cheap (vs market value) today and yesterday.

I almost snagged a brand new gold speedmaster for 24k. Easy flip for 27-28 +. Missed it by a few mins.

How do you flip that? You gotta find a private buyer don’t you?

Chrono24 they’re all 33+ for new

I tried to look into Moda after you mentioned it the other day and it’s apparently somewhat risky to transact there.

Would you be comfortable sending someone $24k and hope that they’ll send you a watch and then also hope that it’s not a fake? Can you explain?

amen to that!

So moda is pretty strict compared to other Facebook groups. There’s real money on moda, many of the vendors are people who pay moda thousands of dollars to post. A lot of times people are willing to back other respected buyers with their own cash. For example, say if someone is asking @Jrouleau426 for a reference check, I would say, standup car broker, I had a good experience. Someone else who knows him better might say “vouch with my own money up to 10k” meaning if he screws up the voucher will pay 10k or risk getting banned from moda.

what would be the upside for that guy to vouch?

risk his money on a transaction he has nothing to do with and nothing to gain?

a) have someone get your back if you need it.

b) put your dick on the table.

95% of the people that post there. Yes I would. These guys sell millions in watches a month. There’s protections you can take like escrow etc also. Most of them own retail shops so you can always fly to them too if you want
